Dog Daycare

Great Dog Daycare, Inc., a dog daycare in Seattle, has been operating since 2001 in an NC-3 area, with prior verbal approval from the city. The City of Seattle has no definition of a dog daycare in the city zoning codes. The City of Seattle is writing defining code and determining zoning restrictions for dog daycares. However, Great Dog needs to remain operating as it has since its inception. It is imperative for dog daycares to remain in their present location and operate with access to the fenced, outdoor areas during the day (9am – 5:30pm). It is important for dog daycare services to be provided in convenient locations along major arterials and thus, should be allowed to operate in a minimum of a NC2 zoning restrictions. A Dog Daycare services a large number of this area’s dogs and by drastically altering their business, it would deeply and negatively impact neighborhoods, an industry and the Seattle community. This petition will be sent to Jan Drago, President of City Council as well as Department of Planning and Development. Petitions need to be at Great Dog by October 15, 2005.
