Divest the State of Colorado

The petition

In the past three years, over 400,000 civilians have been killed in Darfur, Sudan and 2.5 million are currently displaced and in the path of genocide.

As residents of the State of Colorado, we demand that the state divest from targeted companies that are providing revenue for genocide and providing little or no assistance to Sudanese civilians. The State of Colorado legislature must immediately pass a bill requiring the divestment of public monies from the worst offending companies in Sudan, and the Governor must sign it so that economic pressure can be exerted quickly and effectively to bring peace and security to Darfur before it is too late.
