When I switched Gyn doctor and went to another, I was told that it was the shot but once my cycle started back again four months later then I was told it must not be the shot because the medicine is out of my system. I was concerned about any possible side effects and long terms effects when I went to see her doctor. I was not informed of any. However, I decided to do some of my own research and am really alarmed at all that I have read. I have already decided this treatment will not be an option for my daughter, and I am looking into what other alternative she may have. I therefore agree that further investigation and publication of that investigation is needed. Patients must be informed of the risks they are taking and parents of children have a right to have all of the information in order to make the best choice for their child. |

| 282 | carl | bumbalough | TN | US | in 1998 I had prostate cancer, the doctor gave me a lupron injection. which stopped the male activity. it is now feb 25, 2007 and I found out on my own that one of the side effects of lupron injections, is that it stopps the body from producing the natural protien which make up the carthlage in the human joints. once you take this dangerious drug, and the body doesn't produce the protien enzime, the body starts to feed off the carthlage,in the body joints I know because one of my cancer doctors ask me in 2002 did you have a lupron injection during your prostate cancer treatment,I told him I did, and asked him why he had ask that, he then began to tell me that the body has to have protein tfor healthy joints, and that was why my joints were desolving like they were, I am now 54 years old, I can no longer do many phisical things that I used to do, some times I can barely walk around the house if I have very sever joint pain all the time now, I had went to ST.Thomas orthopidic alliance clinic in nashville Tenn. two years age,a DR milik checked out my systems, he said my joints were being desolved, it is now in me elbows,hands,shoulders,back knees,and ankles. The droctor that gave me this drug never told me anything like this would happen, now all I can doo is take pain medication,3 times a day, which does not stop the pain or even ease it off, I changed jobs twice to try to fine something, I could still work at but it is getting to the point where I am going to have to apply for my disability. my hands,ankles,knees,and elbows swell every day now I have large knots forming on me fingers it the joint sights,where the bones are rubbing bone to bone,because the carthlage has desolved. my doctor never said that this could evey hsppen. signed Carl B. |

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic migraines. The bone pain in my legs is the worst and most disabling. I have bone pain in wrists, shoulders, elbow, feet. I had none of these symptoms prior to this treatment. I suffered with many symptoms during my treatment but was told this was normal. I have not been able to work since 2005 and I had to cut back to a part time work schedule after the lupron and until I was totally disabled. Please check into this before more women suffer needlessly. I am 41 and also already diagnosed with osteopenia. |

for what the Dr. believed was endo. Unfortunatley they did not test me for pregnancy and
unknowenly to me I was infact pregnant after 2 years of trying. My son was born with Cerebral Palsey but
only suffers from a mild case of it now at age 5. I on the other hand have developed some seriouse
problems since then but am unsure if they are related to Lupron. I have had numerouse surgeries for
female problems which led to a hysterectomy in 03 which they learned I did NOT even have endo in
the first place...I had cervical cancer. I have had a heart attack since then, rapid heart rate, I
am deeply depressed usually, I have been sick off and on for the last 5 years constantly. I am
constantly tired always with little or no energy to do daily activities. I have lesions on my
liver and I am now getting ready to be tested for Lupus because my joints in my knees, elbows,
fingers, hands etc...are always stiff or painful to the point I sometimes am unfunctional. For the last
five days ive been unable to eat anything other then applesauce and pudding due to extreme joint
pain in my jaw. My Dr. can come up with no reason why I feel the way I do...and is leaning towards
"mental depression" is causing me to feel this way. I know this is not the reason why im
sick...but its so hard to get another Dr to go against his fellow Dr. They can not convince me this is in
my head because I know depression does not keep you from being able to walk. |
