103 ElisabetErikssonCAUSI am a support group leader for women with endometriosis. I have seen the devastating side effects first hand in so many of my group members. Many of these side effetcs are permanent in my perception, such as the loss of short term memory. It becomes apparent to me when a person has taken Lupron within about 10 minutes of conversation with them simply because they by that point will have forgotten what we taled about at the beginning of the conversation. This drug is in my opinion very damaging and not at all effective in treating endometriosis. I would like to see a serious investigation on the effects of taking Lupron and I would like to see the medical establishment enducated about this drug. Many endometriosis specialists already know that Lupron is ineffective as a treatment for endometriosis and they no longer prescribe it.

110 SharolynEricksenUTUSAlthough Lupron has been a good treatment option for many women with endometriosis, I agree that certain women experience severe and even deadly side effects. I think Lupron may affect women of different age groups very differently depending on their hormone sensitivities and levels. I am one of those women who experienced a potentially lethal side affect. Three days after my first shot of Lupron, I experienced severe chest pain. No one wanted to believe that it could possibly have been the Lupron. I was told that I was anxious in the emergency room and sent home. Three weeks later, I collapsed from the same chest pain at work and again went to the ER where they did tests and found DVT and a pulmonary embolus in my left lung. I was 29 years old when this happened. I have no history of blood clots nor do I have a genetic disposition to having them. I am grateful that I have some relief from the endometriosis pain after my Lupron treatment. I just wonder if there may be additional testing to see why some women respond so differently to this drug. It sure could not hurt.
111 lesliepalterMAUSi many years ago,was diagnosed with endometriosis by 3 doctors. very well known.with very high positions. one is charge of one of the biggest and best hospitals in boston. i got lucky and fortunately a 4th dr. diagnosed that i had a cyst, which was than removed. i was only 28 at the time. now at 47, i think its tragic that almost 20years later, we still have some incompetent care and we allow there to be drugs that not only do not help, but hurt the patient. for a young vivacious women to have to go through this is truly unjust and if not criminal.
112 AmandaEggersILUSI was on lupron for about 6 months a little over a year ago. I sufferd many probelms due to it. I was diagnosed with ostioperosis after using it. I have been on actonel and now find out it may have been a false reading due to the lupron. I also had memory loss and dizzyness often. I dont think it helped at all it just hinderd my outcome.

118 MelissaForgioneNYUSThere is no reason why we should suffer because a company does not want to spend the money to properly research their drugs...And their is no reason why the doctors should lie and tell us that there are no side effects, when clearly this drug is dangerous to most women who use it.

126 EricaSilvermanCAUSI have a family member who seems to be suffering long term effects from use of Lupron. This needs to be investigated to prevent more women from being damaged while Takeda Abbott continues to profit while ignoring these questions.

133 JaneSmithMEUSCongressional subcommittee must investigate this women's health risk immediately; if FDA won't do it, empower the subcommittee to get to the bottom of drug company malfeasance.

136 TinaEstillTXUSA study is severely needed on this drug. It is widely used by gynecologists and marginally works. The effects are very temporary at best. Review the survey by the Endometriosis Association. Major side effects may not develop until two years or more after taking. Is this drug causing further damage to our bodies? Women with endometriosis often suffer with great pain from the disease. Many of us also suffer from a long list of auto-immune diseases. We do not need to suffer from the side effects of drugs, when there are better treatments available.

144 ArlenePageVAIt is extremely important that all the effects of Lupron be studied, and the resulting information be available so that women and their doctors can make fully informed decisions.
