I was being treated for endometriosis. Eventually at the age of 49 I had a hyterectomy. Today 7 years since the major surgery I am still suffering from the effects of the Lupron. I have fibromyalgia, osteperosis, migraines and depression. I do believe the Lupron is the starting cause of these lasting issues. Women need to be more well informed before taking Lupron. If you are young, it may impact the rest of your life. |

After first being misdiagnosed by a doctor that pretty much told me the pains I was experiencing were in my head, I finally found a real explanation. After 6 paps, 2 ultrasounds, 1 cat scan of my uterus and a laparoscopy I was diagnosed with stage 2 Endometriosis.
My doctor “burned off all of the adhesions he could get to and promptly started me on Depo Provera to help with the slowing of the disease. After only 2 months after my surgery I was experiencing awful pains again. We continued with the Provera treatments for about 6 months. At every visit my doctor pushed fro me to take Lupron, promising that all the “bad” information I had read was untrue and it was my best chance at relief. After several visits and promises from my doctor I gave in. After my first Lupron injection I knew I had made a mistake. The pain doubled, I experienced hot flashes almost 1 an hour. Night sweats were no better, the migraines came full force and the depression I experienced had me believing I was insane. One minute I was laughing my butt off, the next minute I was in hysterics crying. I contacted my doctor who again made promises that they would go away with the second injection. I took my second 3 month injection, and the pain doubled again. My depression became bad enough that I almost lost my job, my boyfriend and I needed antidepressants. I have since suffered neck pain and now have numbness in my hands and feet. I ended up taking 3 total injections and never got relief from the endometrial pains. It has been 9 months since the last injection. I am still in pain, the depression has subsided but I still have body aches9mostly in my neck) I gained a lot of weight, I have numbness, memory loss, can not stay focused, ,oozing my hair, and still have not restarted my menstrual cycle. I am really worried that this medication has put me into permanent menopause at age 26. I urge anyone even giving at thought to Lurpon to be strong and say no way. I made the mistake of giving in to my doctor and am now paying the price. And what is most disturbing is I still have painful Endometriosis |

I had to be hospitalized for pain management. Since I have another chronic illness, rheumatoid arthritis, I also take other heavy duty meds for that. I was constantly sick throughout my entire 6 month treatment. I had my last shot in January. My endo pain was only reduced for about 6 weeks, so overall the treatment did not even help me. I have been siffering severely ever since. Constant joint pain, as if my RA wasn't painful enough during flares, now I have to deal with that pain daily. I am so weak, I can hardly do anything anymore. I forget what I am talking about right in the middle of a conversation and I just can't remember anything, even things that are a normal everyday activity such as giving my daughter her lunch money. All of the muscles throughout my body are sore to the point where I can hardly massage it. I am constantly nauseas, dizzy, always tired, always in pain, bones, muscles, endometriosis. I am suffering, out of work and no one can figure out what is wrong with me! I keep telling them that I was never this bad prior to taking Lupron. I am so severely depressed, I am now seeing a therapist and taking anti-depressants since February. Why is this happening to all of us women? We are suffering and no one is listening. Lupron is dangerous! |

I took two shots (each was a 3 month supply) and I took the add back drug (after laproscopy). I went from the nice smart girl with the curly hair to medusa. It made me psycho. The hot flashes were terrible and the pain didn’t get any better. And the extreme fatigue it induces is down right miserable. I also gained 35lbs. I went from a size 6 to a size 12. My obgyn put me on Zoloft to help with the mood swings and that was also a waste of time. Overall the drug was a complete let down. It took four months for my period to start afterwards and the pain is still present. I still have daily low back pain and have resorted to alternative treatment with slow progress. If I could go back, I wouldn’t touch Lupron. It debilitates the quality of life worse than the disease it is treating with not results. Now, six months post Lupron therapy and; I hurt at every joint in my body and I have been searching for job and noticing my mind isn't as sharp as it use to be. I am easily distracted and my short term memory is non-existent. My bones ache and My hands and feet go numb and tingling without reason and I feel so helpless. I was told this drug would help me and all it has done is harm me. Not only physically but emotionally-all of my personal relationships have been negatively affected and I am overwhelmed with feelings of being out of control over my body and mind. Everything about my life has dramatically changed since I injected the poison- except one thing-I still have Endometriosis. :( God help us all who trusted our doctors when they handed us this treatment. |

Dr was unable to remove all of it and is giving me option to start treatment of Lupron for 6 months or have more extensive surgery to cut me open and remove more of the endo. From what I have read online so far, I do not see that Lupron seems to be a good option at all. It seems to cause more harm than good. Has this medication worked for anyone?? I went to the chiropractor and I went to the doctor. I had blood work and x-rays conducted for several different forms of arthritis and all the tests and x-rays were negative. It hit me two days ago that it could be the Lupron shots. I called my OB/GYN and when he returned my call he stated he had never heard of a complaint of joints aching and told me to continue with my last shot. He said approximately a month after the last shot if my joints quit aching it was probably the Lupron. I decided to get back on the internet and research, again the drug Lupron. I found this site and could not believe what I was reading. I thought maybe I had already submitting a comment after reading several of the comments. It was hard to believe that I was excited that I figured out why I had joint pain. I have made the decision not to take the last shot and hopefully my body will go back to normal. I am 50 years old and feel like I am 100. I am just praying that the symptoms do not last several years like I have been reading from other patients of Lupron. I really wish I would have found this site before I took the shots. This drug is horrible. It should be taken off the market!!!! It might be too late for us to feel better, but it could save someone else from going through what approximately over 600 patients of Lupron have commented on this website. |

I went from great health to disabled. That shot was 6 years ago. I am worst. Some days I can barely walk. Sick of Tap's denial of this. Disgusted! I feel like I am dying a very slow painful death. No one should take this drug!!
To date, no reversal of the damage in fact it's worst. I wish I could turn back time and never have that shot!!!!! |

I know it is not the same for everyone, but it is not all bad all the time. I had long difficult periods TWICE a month, and my fibroid has shrunk to allow a laparascopic hysterectomy. To friends out there who are considering this treatment, at least give it a chance. It helps to remain active (walk, swim, exercise...). I was severely anemic (52 HB) and needed two blood transfusions. I am now a healthy 125 HB, healthy weight, and can work my high stress but wonderful job. I hope this helps. Good luck to all. |

Prior to the shots, we never had any marriage problems whatsoever. I still love him to this day. Even though he hasn't spoken to me in years. I turned my whole family away from me. Slowly my family has come back around. But only when they begun to realize the truth about the shot and what happened to me. I was such a happy person prior to those shots. I try to be happy now but when I turned my back on the man I loved and he has never forgiven me, it kills me inside, knowing that I can't change it. I have asked God to forgive me and he does. I am so thankful that God never turns his back on us, no matter what. I have asked forgiveness from my husband, but he will not forgive me. It is painful everyday that I have to live with all that. The neurologist numbers of times with MRI of the back and neck, Nerve Conductive Studies, Cat Scans, and still live with the pain an weakness of my left extremities. The site of Injection was my left side each time. Today I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy so now the nerves on the left side of my face are effected. It has been constant pain and weakness for 4 years now. This drug should be taken off the market for treating Endo. No physicians support each of these are a result of Lupron. I am convinced. She claimed this will make me feel better, help with the pain and heavy bleeding. Also along with the Lurpon shots, she suggested I had the pleasure of taking Norethridrone to combat the "menopause" like symptoms. (this caused additional symptoms!)Well from the first shot it has been a living hell! I gained 30 lbs, high blood pressure, fatigue, joint pain, depression, heart palpatations. I had to stop the noriethridrone 3 months into my treatment & I did not complete my last shot. No woman should go through what all of on this website have experienced! This drug needs to be taken off the market. The sad thing is, we trust our doctors to do the right thing, to help us when we are not well. In this case I think they have failed all of us! I wish everyone well! |
