Holly Lincoln | Dean O'Rourke has shown incredible support for public interest law, both by increasing BU's loan forgiveness program and by giving substantial funds to the PIP program. She's also successfully brought several long-lost alumni back in touch with the law school, which will have a lasting effect on fundraising. She makes her commitment to the students, faculty, and staff evident on a daily basis.
Amie Filipchuk | I have really seen a difference in the availability of the entire administration under Dean O'Rourke. She has impressed me over and over with her openness towards students and her willingness to implement new policies that best reflect student needs. She treats students with respect, and thus, we respect her. She has made a great dean!

Layke Martin Stolberg | Dean O'Rourke's support of public interest is unmatched by any other Dean in BUSL history. She has greatly increased the funding available for the Loan Repayment program. She has also generously supported the Public Interest Project by helping to fund grants for first- and second-year law students working in unpaid non-profit or government summer internships. Her efforts help to ensure that BUSL graduates have a greater understanding of the need for public interest and pro bono legal work and will dedicate all or part of their legal careers to such causes.

Alexandra Shandell | Dean O'Rourke has done amazing things for this school. I am particularly grateful for her immeasurable help with the Public Interest Project and other public interest initiatives. The law school would not be the same without her.
Alexandra Diaz-Almaral | It seemed that only a minute had passed between the time when we sent an email asking for our journal office to be renovated and when Dean O'Rourke came to our office with the building supervisor asking us which wall we wanted torn down. Thanks for all you've done for us!

Nicholas A. Semanko | It has been shown time and again that the administration at BU does more for its students than at any other law school. This is due in no small part to the efforts of Dean O'Rourke. Her commitment to the students to the students and her leadership over the past two years have been immeasurable. The school is lucky to have had her service and we thank her greatly.

Matthew Leary | The sooner the phrase "ad interim" is removed from Dean O'Rourke's title, the better. I hope BU recognizes the value of continuity and the contributions Dean O'Rourke has made in the last two yearss.

Debra Koker | Dean O'Rourke has made significant improvements to the law school over the two years that she has held the role as dean. I think she should be a prime candidate for the permanent dean position.

Rebecca Binder | Second time signing: I wanted to express my appreciation for the work Dean O'Rourke's put into improving the sense of community we have here at BUSL. The law school takes great pride in the support and friendship the BUSL community provides, and makes that a talking point for applicants. Dean O'Rourke's put a lot of action behind that statement. Yoga classes and free coffee may not come across as major improvements on paper; but they symbolize Dean O'Rourke's successful efforts to make this law school a place that I enjoy coming to every day, and a place that I know cares about my well-being.
Kendra Kinscherf |
Jessica Laughlin | Please be sure Dean O'Rourke gets full consideration BEFORE she leaves BUSL!!!

Anonymous | I can't even begin to express how impressed I have been with Dean O'Rourke's performance as Ad-Interim Dean of the law school. Her attention to both the largest issues (alumni connections, fundraising, faculty and academic oversight) to the smallest (colors of the bathroom) and her interst in efficiently involving students in every aspect of school development is one of her most outstanding features. She is an outstanding scholar, a community builder, and simultaneously approachable and no-nonsense. It would be an incredible loss to this school if she were to accept a position elsewhere.
