Everyone has heard of neopets.com. It is one of the most popular sites on the web; a place many went to have fun, to relax - but now, now - now it is an oppresive slave force trapping people in! You can not link out of the site, you can not talk about God or fear banishment from the site, you can not talk about politics, and in child-restricted areas you still have to abide by many childish rules. There is no more fun in this site. There are cheap and cheezy ads plastered across it - including Starbucks and McDonalds. It's steadily becoming a major corporation, treading not-so-delicately upon its many users, whose mail is being watched, whose shops can not go undaunted, where all of your work can be crushed in a moment should the Neopets team make a single mistake, or listen to the wrong person. To protect the idiotic everyone must suffer... this can not go on much longer, without either the site itself crumbling or being pillaged.
If you wish to see Neopets.com restored to its normal, should-be state, where all can have fun, then sign this petition, help support the cause which fight for our freedom on a small portion of the web - and maybe we will find freedom in more places then one. |
