Joseph Garcia | I have been freaked out on that merge many times.
Anonymous | I have been freaked out on that merge many times.
Genene Johnson | I have ridden this route quite a few times and am always unpleasantly surprised that such a dangerous interchange exists on one of the most popular bike routes in all of San Diego County. Please move forward with one of the solutions presented in this petition to save lives and provide support for the cycling and driving community.

Mary G. Strom | II lead a small group of cyclists on the weekends - many new to cycling and are very slow on an uphill. I hope you choose to install a stop sign for the motorist - it would give more assurance of a safer cross-over to the bike lane. Thank you.

William McHargue | Given that it is merging into a business district with reduced speed limits and stoplights, the stop-sign option would not really affect the time for cars to make their way through downtown Del Mar, and be safest overall. Also, what about Northbound?

Ron Grayson | I used to ride this everyday when I worked in the UTC area and was always leery of cars. Equally bad is the northbound merge, trying to cut across traffic to get to Coast Hiway.

Anonymous | This is a particularly dangerous intersection for bicyclists. Anything to improve upon it would be a welcome change! Thank you!

| 368 | John F. Bagby | This merge is so dangerous that I don't use it anymore. Instead, when southbound, I turn right just before the overpass bridge and proceed on the road that goes by Jakes in Del Mar. Then, to get back on Camino del Mar, I go up the hill next to the post office.

Anonymous | i've also experienced near miss accidents on my bike while cars merge. Drivers are going way too fast and do not look when merging

tom harvey | the existing sign instructing southbound cyclists at this merge is somewhat nonsensical. i think it says "bicyclists yield to cross traffic". Neither the cars merging in nor the cyclists merging right are really "cross traffic", as far as i can see.

| 378 | Matt Wiedlin | It is a traffic condition that clearly needs improvement. The proposed changes seem inexpensive and will make for a safer condition. It really does seem like it is a matter of time till someone gets hit.
Thanks for your consideration. |

Tuan Richardson | Vehicular merge appears to be super dangerous to cyclists. As a landscape architect, I am in full support of making the streets of Del Mar more pedestrian/bike friendly.

Elaine Bergeron |
Robert Witkop | This is only one problem area. On Genesse north where the 52 merges. Bikes have to cross the merging lane to get to the bike lane, and cars see bikes as targets.
Skip Gleavey | The same dangerous situation exists on the North bound side, only at much higher speeds because it is downhill. Similiar cautions, including lowering the speed limit through that short stretch, could prevent an eventual catastrophe.
