The petition

Dayton ISD must find a new way to discipline children for their behavior on the bus. Currently children are being suspended from riding the bus for the most minuet reasons. Many parents depend on the school bus for transportation. Many parents do not have the means to transport their children to and from school. Some parents only have one vehicle that is used for work. Some parents are single parent families or both parents work and are not able to take off of work to transport their children back and forth to school. Suspending children from the bus is hurting the families that use the bus as the only means of transportation. Dayton ISD must find an alternative form of punishment, such as in school suspension. In school suspension makes the child responsible for their misbehavior without upsetting the family income or structure. Most children do not like to ride the bus and all children hate in school suspension. Some bus drivers will suspend children for things such as being too loud, having their feet in the aisle, turning around, reading a book. The truth is the least amount of children riding the bus makes the bus drivers job easier. Some bus drivers take advantage of this. Let's leave bus suspension for the violent, uncontrolable behavior. In school suspension over bus suspension will solve problems for parents, students and bus drivers.
