Re: Mrs. Gina Petrozelli, Dunellen High School Vice-Principal Petition
Not very often, in this great town of Dunellen, does there come a time that the voters, tax payers and overall townspeople, we the people, need to be heard outside of the annual voting process leaving the execution to the administration. However, there is such a need now and we are asking to be heard.
While the 2008-2009 school budget has been accepted and approved, we respectfully request, that the time be taken to work out a solution which will allow Mrs. Gina Petrozelli to transition from her role as Dean of Students into the role as Vice-Principal.
Mrs. Petrozelli has been part of our District for the past 15 years and for the past 2 years, Dean of Students. She has a proven successful track record for fairness, integrity and consistency. Mrs. Petrozelli's successes can be noted and measured but one so important in today's world is her flawless execution for a safe educational environment for our children. Mrs. Petrozelli's noted positive contributions extend across our District for example, she assumed the role as Lincoln Middle School Administrator when this position was abruptly vacated. In a very short period of time, Mrs. Petrozelli instilled calmness and direction. Her performance has consistently been reviewed as not just a ˜good job" but "excellent".
We know the Dean of Students role, in reality, is the Vice-Principal's role in everything but title and salary. We know that Mrs. Petrozelli has been successfully assuming these responsibilities. We know that Mrs. Petrozelli will obtain her certification by January 1st. Our request is have Mrs. Petrozelli remain as Dean of Students until the January timeframe, then transition into the Vice-Principal role where she will successfully continue to support Mr. Mosley, students, teachers, administrators and parents.
We would like the opportunity to be heard further at the upcoming board meeting on May 6th.
Sincerely, The Undersigned,
