Mary R & Samuel L Placanica | We are for the tunnel and very much against more towmhouse in that area. Leave the parking site alone. There is too much traffic etc. now.

jeff johns | there is really nothing else that makes sense. built the tunnel. i live in the forest glen estates, its a great idea

Marcello Mollo | Please build a tunnel!
Anonymous | Yes, a tunnel! There is already so much traffic, I just can't see adding more population with more cars!

Heidi Epstein | Forest Glen metro, with its convenient parking lot are a main reason for living in this neighborhood.
Anonymous | I am in support of building a pedestrian tunnel beneath Georgia Avenue, so long as this doesn't include shutting down lanes of Georgia Avenue during its construction. Where would the tunnel come out on the east side of Georgia Avenue?- Would it be on the property the Forest Glen Medical building?
Karl T. Smith | Georgia Ave. is a dangerous river of traffic. The tunnel would help fragile humans cross this river of rushing metal.

Lisa Rigazio | Well planned development encouraging density around metros is a good strategy for the environment, to encourage public transit use and prevent the dreaded SPRAWL ... however the key to this idea is being WELL PLANNED. That includes planning ways to fix existing problems and stratagize ways to avoid making them worse. The County Council must place transportation as a priority when evaluating new development.
Pamela Trochesset | I would prefer a bridge to a tunnel but either alternative would be acceptable as long as bicycles would be accomodated.

scott r. scope | There is enough congestion in this corridor already. Additional housing will only exacerbate the danger for everyone who frequently passes through this intersection. Let's put the public's safety ahead of profits for a change. It's the moral thing to do.

Jim Sandiford | Living on Forest Glen Road within 2 blocks of the intersection of Georgia Avenue, I support FECA and the other community associations in their effort to have a tunnel built under Georgia Avenue at Forest Glen.

Delegate Jane Lawton | I am strongly in support of your tunnel. Have you sent our petition to all the candidates to solicit signatures? It might be a good idea. I will fight for the tunnel in Annapolis - and also here in the County with my County official friends. Best to you, Jane
Thomas E. Connor | Crossing Georgia Avenue at Forest Glen Road is hazardous. The timining for the pedestrian crossing and signal lights is inadequate, especially for any pedestrians that may have even the slightest disability. Extending the timing for pedestrain crossing will increase traffic congestion. A tunnel is needed both for pedestrian safety and for minimizing traffic congestion. The crossing should be designed so that all pedestrians can use it even those that will not necessarily be entering the Metro system.

Becca Knox | I live in the neighborhood of Forest Estates and take the Metro to work every day. It is very frightening to cross at Georgia and Forest Glen, especially in the winter or in bad weather.
Carolyn Godfrey | My most important concern regarding local politicians is with traffic safety in our neighborhood for my husband and children who use the Metro regularly.
Madere Olivar | I crossed Georgia at Forest Glen one time 6 years ago and have never repeated the experience. It's incredibly dangerous.
| 134 | Saundra Maley | Please help make the intersection at GA Ave. and Forest Glen safer -- it is treacherous righ now!
Thanks |
Dan Leggett | This is a 'no brainer'. Build a tunnel!
Julia Gordon |
Steve Pomponi |
Ann Piesen | Crossing Georgia at Forest Glen Road like playing Frogger with your life. I've seen mothers with their small children trying to keep from being hit by cars absent mindedly making right turns and still having to run across trying to keep time with the lights.
Phil Margolies | Crossing Georgia at the Forest Glen intersection is dangerous! Pedestrians need a tunnel!
David Lublin |
Todd Boyer | Without question, I support the tunnel
Rebecca Marvin Boyer | I cross Georiga Ave. every morning to access Metro. It is extremely dangerous. Something MUST be done.
Hilary Kinney | This intersection is very dangerous. A pedestrian tunnel is affordable compared to the cost of a human life.
