Over 40 million Americans in the United States do not have any health insurance coverage. Many others can barely afford the coverage they currently have and are endanger of losing it. The United States is the only advanced nation in the world that does not have a comprehensive universal healthcare system. Despite this pressing problem President Bush and the leadership in Congress have no serious plan to deal with it. Ignoring the issue and hoping it will go away is not a responsible course of action for our nation's politicians. Health care is a right not a privilege and no American should be forced to live with out it in the richest country in the world. If you believe like I do that Congress should take immediate action to guarantee that all Americans have the health care coverage they need and deserve please sign my petition urging Congress to pass a universal health care plan as soon as possible. |

My name is John Scott. I am a liberal American who is 75 years old and I believe if we do not do things in this country to help our fellow Americans survive the health care issues at hand, if we are not careful we will end up like the other poorer countries without any health care at all. This is a right of our country to make sure we have this option in our lives! |
