| 1852 | THERESA K SEDORE | GOVERNMENT IS A SOULLESS ENTITY. I FIRMLY
BELIEVE DECISION MAKERS SHOULD WEAR THE SHOES FIRST BEFORE CASTING A VOTE.
EACH MINISTER SHOULD CARE FOR ONE OF THESE CHILDREN / ADULTS 24-7 FOR ONE WEEK AND CAST A QUALIFIED VOTE |
Marjory Walser |
Shasta Martinuk | I fully support this effort to create a seamless system of support for people with disabilities and their families. It makes no sense for them to have to change ministries when their child becomes an adult.
Veronica Jackson |
Linda Korbin |
Ann Jorgensen | I believe that the Government by doing this will create significant inconsistenancies in the level of service provided
Debra Sarnowski |
Ana Simeon |
Lesley Wasylyk | The transition to having CLBC provide service has been difficult. CLBC needs time, without more bureaucratic shuffling, in order for it's goals to work. Families do not need more change and confusion.
Penny Nicholls | It is hard enough to get assistance to my child at the moment without splitting up the services. Children and adults with special needs require consistant assistance to be effective. It is bad enough that the product changed just a few years ago...now to have it changed again is disappointing and discouraging.

Robert Slaughter | We have a special needs adopted son who will require care all his life. It is essential to his quality of life and to us to have supportive services in place through out his life.

Petra Slaughter | A seamless service should start from birth to end of life especially for children and adults with special needs. Supportive services for families / caregivers is esstential and needs to be consistant in caring for special need children / adults

Sigrid Stark | As a parent of a child with disabiltes I urge the government of British Columbia to merge services for people with disabilities. Finding services is difficult enough, please don't make it even more distant and difficult to access.
Greg Bailey |
Anonymous | We need the government to listen to our requests as parents and partners in the lives of our children.
Susan Reid | I am fully in support of this petition. I have seen first hand the issues facing these people and there should be continued support for their entire lives. We as a society should be responsible and the government should not continue to cut crucial services.

Helen Kelsey | The ethic of care is founded on relationships (Nel Noddings, 1984). The support for persons with developmental disabilities has crumbled in this province, as budgets and services have been slashed, misappropriated, "bureaucratized" and just plain wasted. The government has spent endless dollars trying to deduce ways to spend less money for the individuals who need homes, services, support, and tlc. This is just another tactic of bureaucrats in trying to figure out how not to give the support that the individuals and families need. As the waiting lists grow and the services and buying power of the dollars diminish, this latest ploy adds insult to injury. Perhaps CLBC should be scrapped and the government should show the leadership needed to provide the seamless and integrated care that would demonstrate to society as a whole, and individuals and families specifically that the elected members of the Legislature truly believe in persons with developmental disabilities have community LIVING and not just breath and pulse support.
Joyce Elaine Munn | These waiting lists are not justified. I personally know families that have been in severe crisis due to lack of support and finances. Please get on top of this NOW.

Eugene Klassen | Another disruption is not what is needed in the lives of individuals and families of persons who have disabilities. A seamless service for children and adults is essential, no matter which ministry or crown corporation is assigned the task.

Anonymous | I was lost in the last shuffle from ministry to community living, it took me over a year to get things organized. Why are you doing this to me and my son again. Not to mention all the other families that are looking for support.
