The platform of the Coalition for Rehabilitation and Reentry calls for a major reorientation of NYS criminal justice toward a more restorative process. Its twelve parts are: Expanded pre-trial services, Fair representation, Job-oriented education, Drug law reform, Treatment and transformation, Prison health services, Merit time, Parole policy and practice, Work release, Reentry support, Family services, and Long-termers/lifers programs. The platform was developed in cooperation with 33 other advocacy organizations, and was finalized at a gathering of these 33 on September 25, 2007 in Menands, NY
