Friends of the Falls Church City Center

The petition

The City of Falls Church Virginia is building a city center.

The purpose of the project is to provide a functional city center which diversifies public revenue, enhances the vibrancy of our local businesses, provides a stable source of future funding for our excellent public schools, offers affordable housing options, and supports our unique sense of community.

The modern city center project has been discussed, negotiated, defined, and adjusted by our citizens for more than eight years. The project is now at a critical stage of approval.

Opponents of the city center project are attempting to stop the initiative at the very last minute by forcing a modification to the City Charter which would require a special referendum to approve the city center project and all future development initiatives in the City - the so-called Deathstar Referendum.

Signers of this petition are residents, former residents, business owners, property owners, and visitors to the City of Falls Church who SUPPORT EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE CURRENT CITY CENTER PROJECT THROUGH EXISTING PUBLIC PROCESS AND OPPOSE THE PROPOSED "DEATHSTAR" CITY CHARTER CHANGE REFERENDUM.
