51 Armando gonzalesPortlandoregon97206It is time for Portland to honor a great leader. We are doing the right thing by going forward with the renaming of this Avenue. For those of us that are Latinos, it is a constant struggle in fighting for social justice. For those of us that are in a position to make a difference, it is our responsibility to make sure that we are always moving forward towards posiitive change for all citizens.

74 olga sanchezportlandoregon97206How timely to circulate this petition just before Labor Day. It is a tremendous decision for Portland to honor Cesar Chavez, who championed human rights and equitable working conditions for the "invisible" workforce. Chavez reminds us of the challenges faced by our ancestors, the continuing struggles of all workers, and of the inherent dignity of the human being in all circumstances.
75 Serena Cruz WalshPortlandOR97212It is time that Portland recognize the accomplishments and honor Ceasar Chavez' legacy. Please let me know if there is any other way that I can demonstrate my full support for this effort. Many thanks to all those who are bringing this important effort to Portland.
76 Jamie PartridgePortlandOR97211It's time! Especially given the rise of anti-immigrant, anti-Mexican, anti-Latino sentiment, our city needs to step out strongly proclaiming the important contributions of this great leader and his movement to our country.
