4 Tanya WolferspergerPortlandOR97225I am happy to honor Cesar Chavez, but its too bad you are not trying to rename Killingsworth Street instead. Not only because many Latinos live along this major corridor but as a symbol of the intersecting struggle of civil rights with MLK Blvd. Que tenga suerte!

12 Steven WittePortlandOregon97230As the regional director of the United Farm Workers, Pacific Northwest Region and as opening the first Oregon office of the UFW in Portland, I heartily endorse the renaming of Interstate Avenue to Cesar E Chavez Boulevard. Oregon Agriculture has long depended upon the farm workers labor. The City of Portland has long benefited from this labor and the gifts of the Latino Community. This naming is a crucial step toward recognizing the many gifts given to our city by the Latino Community.

15 Stephanie DavisLake OswegoOR97035I live in a suburb of Portland but my work is in Portland 97203. I spend much time commuting on Interstate Avenue. Someday soon when I have children I will be so proud to take them to work with me and be able to show them César E. Chávez Boulevard. Having this type of reminder of such a amazing civil rights leader helps not only motivate me to continue working for social change but help expose the next generation to do the same.

32 David MolinaPortlandOregon97209I am in complete support in the proposal to rename Portland's Interstate Avenue to Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard as a tribute to one of America's finest leaders who stood up for those who couldn't speak or organize for themselves, a name synonymous for "it can be done" and in recognition that the struggle for civil rights for all people continues not just in Portland, but where injustice is felt.

35 MiguelCardenasOregon97202It's about time the local community acknowledges the important role that Cesar Chavez played in bringing rights to migrant workers.

38 Liz A. PerezBeavertonOregon97006I believe choosing the name of this great man will be the most appropiate to show the respect that our community has towards Mr. Chavez. A man with such humility and leadership has all the attributes for his legacy to be known by everyone in this city.
