What have you done?!?! Dr. Beckett was one of thee most amazing, incredible, and unique characters in the Atlantis series. Paul McGillion has done a TERRIFIC JOB!! I am a big fan of the medical field and I looked up to him, as head of medicine in Atlantis, VERY much! Please bring him back. Paul McGillion and Dr. Beckett are too important to leave so early in the life of Atlantis. Please.

| 486 | Donna Derrico | My son and I watched the "Sunday" episode on DVD and I was shocked that Dr. Beckett's character was killed off. At first I thought maybe he left on his own, but for the writers to actually sit down at meetings and decide that this was a good move was unbelievable. Writers should understand that fans don't like their favorite shows changed so drastically. In the special features section of the DVD I learned of the website to save Carson Beckett and I had to know why the heck he was blown up. I hope his re-entrance into the show will smooth. At this point I would take any premise for his return as long as he does return as his original character. I watched the following episode and couldn't believe that they replaced him with that woman. Beyond that, after having visited the website I learned that Dr. Weir is also going to be gone. If I would have known all this was going on I would not have wasted money on the DVD. I am so pleased that there are fans out there that are proactive in these matters.
I watched SG-1 for all ten seasons and it was difficult after the departure of Jack O'Neill and Daniel. These shows aren't the same when the writers and the decision makers get bored and want to do something "unexpected". I don't do "unexpected" well. |
