Dedicate Carilion VaTech Med School: Mental Health

The petition

Virginia Tech and Carilion Health System confirmed plans in December 2006 to open a medical school in Roanoke,VA to address future physician shortages and patients' ongoing interest in new medical treatments. In light of the killings at Va Tech in April 2007 and the scarcity of mental health research in general, we recommend that the physicians trained at the planned medical school be soley dedicated to research dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.
