ZaraLadakCAWhere is the freedom?? The smoking ban is completely ridiculous, business should then have the option of being "smoking only"!!

AlexPrintsevCAStop anti-smoking INQUISITION!!
DavidDrewloCASmoking bans are not fair. We are consuming a legal product and we should have places to go in public to use it.There should be smoking and non-smoking restaurants, bars etc.
BobBedleyCAI am tired of being told the only good Canadian is a healthy Canadian. I am also tired of the Nazi philosophy that it is cheaper to prevent disease than to cure it.

chriswalshCAMy bar is now closed because anti smokers wanted everything smoke free, but when it happened, no one showed up!!!!!!!!

beverlydayCAi feel it is more of a crime to drink and drive. the government should be looking at the dangers in cell phone usage when driving. where are my rights to detox from tobacco yet there are hundreds of detox for illegal and legal consumption of alcohol and drugs. what about individuals that over eat and cost taxpayers money for medical conditions such as diabetes. it seems driving and drug use is acceptable and not penalized for liver disease or heart deterioration. there is a high cost to our medicare. why smokers only???????

AlexHermanThe anti-smoking movement went way too far; it became an anti -smoking industry.
RobertSallowsCAi feel like a leper in my own country. I currently work in a smelter where alcan spews out smoke in every building , but I can get fired for smoking in any one of these buildings according to WCB and Alcan. And what really ticks me off is that our union the CAW will not fight for us.

TedStewartCAI am an occassional (no more than thrice per week) pipe-smoker who has put a large amount of effort into ensuring that my hobby is not putting myself or those I care about at risk. Despite my careful planning and responsible use of tobacco, I am nevertheless restricted by the same laws that govern those that put themselves and others at risk by smoking in poorly ventilated homes or by consuming unhealthy quantities of tobacco. It is not necessary to punish the cautious to restrict the actions of the reckless.
SylviaParmagianniCASmokers deserve to be treated better than pets.

KimNorsworthyCAThis June 01/2006 smoking ban has now gone too far. This is like we are living and allowing our government to dictate what we do. If I want to smoke it should be my business not the governments. We smokers must fight this ban. Smoking is not illegal and should never be. If it is based on the whole idea that only smoking causes cancer, show proof, the government can't, many things cause cancer. We are crazy to let this happen,
AnonymousAnonymousCAStop creating more divisions in our society. Legislating exclusion sets a dangerous precedent. You are legislating the right to bully, harass, intimidate and humiliate. Look to find real criminals such as rapists, serial killers, murderers, etc... Leave smokers alone.

ChrisStollerWVUSWhy can everyone else cry discrimination except the smokers. Before long you will not be able to smoke in your own home.

ChristopherEatmonI finally got of Canada...moved to South Korea ...Now I pay two dollars for a pack of smokes, 4 per cent income tax and can light up in bars....oh, and I don't need to be bilingual to work!!! I am seeing more and more Canadians coming to this country and finally feeling like a human being again.

JohnVieiraCAI can appreciate how the victims of Genocide, especially those of 60 years ago, must have felt. Talk about State Sponsored hate crimes. Yeah for "Democracy". Wonder if any of our politicians ever read Hobbes? "My friend! It will go on, and on, and on" DR. MENGELE, Auschwitz..."Hier ist kein warum"-Here ther is no 'why'"
