Each year, employees of the Joshua Independent School District are asked to vote between two proposed calendars for the upcoming school year. The calendars differ in staff development days, bad weather days, year end date, and holidays. This seems to be a fair and inclusive way to choose the upcoming calendar. However, there is a very large number of employees whose schedules differ from that of the school calendar. This petition is to allow only those employees whose required days of attendance are governed by the school calendar to vote. All other parties would have to adhere to the outcome of the schools' vote, once accepted and approved by the Joshua School Board. |

There are several school employees, from different schools in the district, who believe that the outcome of the vote was not consistent with employees who must work from the school calendar. We are sponsoring this petition. |
