JackAndersonNJUSHow can WBAI take 1 hour a week away from OUR community? This is a biased attack on THE REAL NATIVE NEW YORKERS!!!

DALIA JAGUARXEITINARUORTIZ-MONTALVONYUSTai Karaya(Good Evening) It saddens our community,YUKAYEKE GUAJATAKA,that such an important medium of communication to us and the rest of the native community is being taken away from us. Is bad enough that "WE" are a minority in our own land, that this is being taken away from our community also. This is the only place where we can actually rely on for all indigenous people to voice their opinions and educate other cultures, by bringing awareness to such like, traditions, events, language. Therefore us at Yukayeke Guajataka, humblely as that this show is kept on the air. Please consider our plead and the plead of the rest of the members of our tribal community. In the spirit of the ancestors, Respectfully Yours, JaguarXeitiNaru & MakanaXeiti Montalvo

aliza anani hetzmanOHUSI as a native american woman protest this decition to discontinue "circle of red nations" program it beeing one of the very few native programs where native people can have a forum.there are programs on the radio for every kind of topic , from the sublime to the disgusting, How many native programs are there? not too many: we are the first people of this continent and we don't have much of a voice; because of our peaceful ways, we,ve been ignored for ceturies , it's time to cry out luodly & demand some respect as a people. i and many others ask you to consider your position on the matter , it's a mater of morality. anani taina native american.

DavidCheungNYUSDear Bernard White Program Director, WBAI, Please honor Pacifica's mission by giving voice to the voiceless and give back the sacred one hour spot to the "Circle of Red Nations" at a time slot similar to the previous one or I will not pledge to WBAI anymore! This is against Pacifica's/ Lew Hill's mission and my principle of supporting WBAI. Listener-Subscriber, David CHeung
stormyravenhawkALUSSave CORN ! do not leave us out.

ReggieldDavisALUSIt would appear to me that again the Native American is being pushed away from the American Lifestyle. If this radio Station is wiped away where is the Voice of the Nations. Who will speak for the US Government. One hour a week is not too much to ask for. Allow us the time. Let us hear about us from us from a station about us.
EsdrasSantana-RamosNYUS

DanielleSchenandoah~PattersonNYUSC.O.R.N. is vital to the Native Communites and residents of the state of New York. This native broadcast provides essential information to all Native American Indians of current issues of the modern native society which needs to be enforced to install pride amongst our people and future generations. The Oneida Indian Nation of the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy, "Oneida's for Democracy Organization" supports and requests the continuence of this radio broadcast station.
Walter RamosNYI've learned of your decision to cancel CORN. When I lived in NYC I tuned in regularly. For two folks who struggled to get back on the air the decision surprises me. Perhaps an explanation will clear up my confusion and consternation.

CharlesThompson IIINJUSIt is almost beyond belief, in this day and time, that a petition like this would be necessary for a station that professes to support all people of color.

BirdSingingCarrilloNYUSPlease reconsider and correct your mistake, we need this program. This is how we connect with each other. Do not destroy a good thing. Learn from the past. We have something to share. Thank you!
SakonigeGuledisgonihiNYUSPlease keep the "Circle of Nations" program on the air. We have little enough as it is to call our own.

WilliamMoralesNYUSMonday, June 10, 2002 Dear Valerie Van Isler I am a long time supporter of WBAI, and would like to continue to hear Circle of Red Nation; please don’t take this station off the air. Circle of Red Nations has been on the air for more than 16 years and has represented all Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island! Furthermore, Circle of Red Nation recently included indigenous speakers from other continents in it’s programming. Pacifica’s Mission Statement is to “contribute to a lasting understanding between individuals of all nations, races, creeds, and colors... We do not feel that Pacifica is assisting in the good promotion of positive relations with Native Americans, by canceling one of our only media outlets. We are asking for 1 hours a week and as the First People of this Nation, we do not feel as if we are asking for too much. Sincerely yours, William Morales
JulieStreikerNYUS
MarySacred HeartKYUSPlease leave the Circle of Red Nations on the air. The decision to remove it without a reason is very unfair and biased.
