1352 Karolynn DavisI'm working with me dearest friend in the whole world who is, as of today, suicidal, to help find alternatives in her detox of antidepressants from her system (after 10 years on 23 different prescriptions), and am so on board with your mission. We've found something that REALLY helps, but the detox period (and the comprehension of it) is still so brutal. My prayers are with you in your mission...

1355 Julia ThompsonI totally agree with banning and even making it illegal to give children and youth access to such mind altering and life altering drugs. My heart breaks for your sad story. My prayers are with you in your crusade.

1368 Danny DillonI am just leaving HELL. caused by Paxil. I quit cold turkey and have been screaming silently to my family and friends, although the "urges" Thank God i had the fortitude to overcome it. Thx. Dan. How can i help? I understand the phazes of getting through it, mabye i can help that way.
1369 Janice SpikesI know the pharmaceutical companies know the risk to long term use of antidepressants but will not take a responsible stand on the use of them. Doctors are telling patients that the drugs are safe and the also say there is no dis effect when withdrawing. I have personal experience with loss and demand that the companies and doctors be held accountable.

1374 YVONNE A.L.RADKEMY HUSBAND AND A POLICE OFFICER, WAS PERSCRIBED AN ANTI-DEPRESSANT TO QUIT SMOKING. AFTER A DRAWN OUT BATTLE WITH THE MEDICAL PROFFESSIONALS AND THIS SSRI. MY HUSBAND FELT HE'D BECOME A DANGER TO EVERYONE, WANTING TO SHOOT THEM THAT HE TOOK HIS OWN LIFE INSTEAD. 11-25-2001
1375 AnonymousMy heart has been aching for some time now as I have had to witness the severe harm caused to an adult family member by these antidepressants. Will it be suicide, homicide, or a life in prison for my loved one? The end of the story is not yet written so I feel like I am living on the edge of a cliff every day while watching my family member suffer terribly from horrible delusions, and no one will listen to me.

1382 Lois LobbI was prescribed SSRi medication in my 30's and am now 54. I was told these were temporary and yet I was on them for 20 years. I weaned myself off because most doctors seem to not understand the protracted withdrawal phase and want to administer more drugs. 75 days - drug free - feeling great and have taken a naturopath approach to healing my body after the damage that has been done to the brain and central nervous sysem. It is a long road back, but it is worth it.
1383 David Sherwoodemail is defunct.
1384 Melissa NaungayanI currently take Welbutrin twice daily...this makes me nervous as I have been prescribed multiple others, Effexor, Paxil, & Zoloft. So far this is the only one that makes me not really care about my sadness, but it does still creep up on me at least three times a month. Depression runs in my family and August 19, 1995 my uncle sat on the railroad tracks in Ormond Beach, FL and let a train run him over because he was so depressed and was also an alcoholic. In 2000, while taking Zoloft, I had planned to take as many pills as I could find in my apartment and just go to sleep forever, but God was watching out for me because my very best friend came over and when I would not answer my door, she got the police involved and then she stayed with me to make sure I was not going to hurt myself. Please work on something other than a drug to help people deal with their depression. Thank you for this effort, I appreciate it.

1389 AnonymousI hope to see these drugs off the market or very limited availability. Studies now revealed in 2008 show that aren't effective anyway, much more than a placebo. So if they're dangerous and ineffective, then why does the FDA continue to approve them? $$$
1390 Anthony HughesTime to ban the SSRI drugs which cause down regulation of the SSRI receptors and hence the effectiveness of endogenous serotonin, and obvious possible catastrophic problems on withdrawal of the drug. Time also to root out all the officials and representatives in the pockets of the drug companies.

1400 Diane TaylorMy son died from use of zoloft, given to him by an ER doctor. We knew NOTHING of this drug. My son was severly depressed by the break up of his marriage--He did not need zoloft! He shot himself in the head, thank god he did not shoot anyone else. There was a young man in our town, same deal, he was depressed, went off zoloft for one day, killed a deputy then pulled the rifle on himself.
