Stephanie Miller | My three year old daughter passed away from complications from the heart defect she was born with. More attention needs to go to babies to be screened.

Sarah T. | Why risk a child's life by just not simply doing the test? A child deserves every chance at life it can get.

Aubry Votruba | There are so many children that are sent home with undetected chd's. It is so dangerous. I feel that this should be just as important as the mandatory blood testing that they do at birth. CHD's are more prominent than most of those diseases anyway.

REBECCA DONALDSON | THIS SHOULD BE FEDERAL LAW AND SHOULD NOT TAKE AN ACT OF CONGRESS TO GET THIS DONE IN ALL STATES!
Leslie Garone | My beuatiful grand daughter almost died because no one "detected" her congential heart defect, please do whatever it takes to protect and help our children.

Jill Motta | My son was diagnosed with a congential heart defect (CHD) known as "Tetralogy of Fallot". Fortunately, he was diagnosed pre-natally at 25 weeks. However, most parents do not find out their child has a CHD until they are born. They don't usually find out until days, weeks or sometimes months. A test like this would greatly decrease the risk of complications that arise with CHD's. Please consider our plea to evalute this crucial test. Thank you.
Harry F. McCray | Please pass. It is good for the children.
Kevin A. Green | This is such an easy, cost effective way of saving lives. A simple, non-invasive pulse oximetry test will catch un-detected heart defects that could otherwise prove fatal or very damaging to these neonates. The fact that this test is not already a part of the mandatory new born screening is unbelievable. Please add this test immediately and begin saving these babies lives. Thank you.

Laura Lynn | My son was born with a heart defect. Luckly my husband had gotten out out of the army before our son was born. I was 8 months pregnet when we found out that our son was going to be born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. I had to beg my doctor for another ultrasound because the army had already given me one when I was 20 weeks. I am so thankful that my docter did give me the ultrasound. And I know he was to. He saved my son's life along with many other docters.

| 239 | Mitch Beims | If our son Braden would have been pulse ox tested after birth they would have detected a problem right away. Luckily, the pediatrician discovered the problem 24 hours later and he was saved. That doesn't happen to lots of babies. Our son is 4 now and it still scares me that a simple test after birth is not performed that could be saving many other babies lives.

Ellen Prenatt | My daughter passed away from complications of a CHD. We were unaware of her condidtion at birth and she went it took her going into arrest before we knew she had HLHS...she lived 10 days...I always think that if we had known sooner things may have been different.

Karen Gautreaux | It is terrible that parents have to go through the pain of what they do because of a little testing that would change things. Lets pass this
