| 1389 | Anonymous | My wife and I had our little man January 7 2007. The docter's detected a murmur when he was just one day old. They told us that many babies were born with a slight murmur and not to worry about it. The doctors did not discover that there was a problem until he was a week old. To make a very long story short after fighting for weeks to get a definite diagnoses he ended up being diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot, which comes with many different issues one being low levels of oxygen in the blood. The pulse oximetry test would have told us there was a problem the day he was born. Luckily his chd was minor enough that he did not need surgery right away. His surgery went very well with no problems forseen in the future. I think that this petition holds a hole lot of water and should be taken very seriously by the recipient of it.

| 1391 | Tania Lambert | My child was born in May 2007 with 5 congenital heart defects that we were unaware of. The pediatrition making rounds noticed her feet turning blue and checked her oxygen level which was low. This led to further testing which discovered the defects. Low oxygen levels is one of the first signs of CHD. My child was over 14 hrs old before she was checked. If they had done a simple pulse oximetry test right after delivery, it could have been caught much earlier. |
| 1392 | Jerusha Goss | This should have been done a long time ago this reading about people who are affected and their babies area affected with CHD it saddens me to even think that this testing is not already in affect. I couldn't even imagine what these parents got through with babies that are ill from the many different diagnosis of CHD.
This should immediatly take into affect and start testing babies today. Do not let the all little angels passings be that let it be that "They Changed the World" with there lives they AIDED in the fight for this testing to be done to help SAVE other babies.
