1304 beth sewellmy daughter was diagniost with CHD at 10 days old in the ER. She was already in heart failure at that point. If she would of had a pulse oximetry in the nursury before coming home she would never had become so sick and would of had her first surgery before she was in danger. We are very lucky that she is still with us. Something as simple as a pulse oximetry screening could save other families from going throught the nightmare that we have endored.

1338 Wendy WaltonSo important to do more screening. I would rather have known about my son's CHD than to have had to wait until he was critically ill before anyone noticed. We screen for so many things, we need to add the number 1 birth defect to that list.

1341 Sara JournaginMy daughter was a week old when they realized something was wrong. Something serious was wrong. She has single ventricle! She could have been helped from day one!

1346 Andrea McPheronI would think a pulse ox screening would be considered a little more important than the hearing test on a newborn screening panel. I would feel much better as a mom knowing my child was being properly oxygenated then whether or not he could hear.
