2414 Patti GalvinTake care of the disease today, avoid complications down the road. Insurance companies need to stop looking at their huge profits, but look to the future. A person with a CGMS will have better results leading to less hospital visits, less complications, fewer medications. In the long run it will be a savings to them to have healthy diabetics without secondary diseases turning up. A re-evaluation is in orderNYBCBS

2417 Laura Jo HelffDiabetic x 50 years. This is extremely important to support CGMS devices for insurance approval. This is not a Prototype. Diabetics who are hypoglycemic unaware could die in their sleep. Many of us do not recognize symptoms of severe hypo or hyperglycemia. Thank youNHnot applicable

2447 Peter RussellI would really like to see the CGMS system covered by insurance. I do not see how you can say that CGMS is not a medical necessity.. Yes I will still have to prick my finger befroe taking insulin.. And i will still have to check in the morning and at night.. The benefit comes in the fact i will be alerted In advance when my sugar starts taking a turn for the worse. It will also let me see how different foods affect my blood sugar and gain a better understanding of how fast and severely they affect the Blod sugar, Thus leading me to better control and understanding of how food and insulin work together and i can finally have normalized blood sugars. This can be a true cure for diabetes just like a pace maker is to a heart.MANetwork health Forward
