Mr Christopher Eccleston's rich and outstanding work as an "all-rounder" in all the fields of the dramatic arts and has been twice nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actor. He has received an honorary MA for Dramatic Arts from the University of Salford.
He is a patron of MENCAP and of Celebrity Pig Theatre Group made up of people with disabilities. He has given his time to the British Red Cross, The Royal British Legion, Hearing Books for the Blind and has run both full and half marathons for the Banana Army part of Leukaemia Research. He has done this not through publicity moreover, as a gesture to others less fortunate than he is.
I have been fortunate enough to meet Mr Eccleston four times in the last three years and found his company to be sincere and genuine without question a humanitarian who puts other people first before himself. |
