| 2663 | mackenzie gray | jPod is (was) a terrific show, very funny and refreshingly different from everything else on TV. The CBC's recent "ratings" criteria seems ridiculous to me. The CBC is not solely dependent on advertizing revenue as the US networks are, it is publicly funded and therefore has more flexibility when it comes to giving shows a chance. Sometimes, it takes a little time and a good advertizing campaign to get a show its audience. jPod was given neither. It's too bad, especially as the writers' strike in the U.S. left a big gap in programming, filling the US networks with reruns. A PERFECT time to blitz the airwaves with Canadian shows, fully promoted. Once again, the CBC BLEW IT! Getting rid of Intelligence ( a sensational show) and Hockey Wives (unique and great fun, with great Press) and then jPod, which TONS of young viewers really liked and were quite hooked by.
Who does your "ratings"? Church groups in Saskatchewan?
Get with it. Bring back jPod and Intelligence while you're at it. |
