| 357 | Katie Wreford | The CBC is not only the voice of Canada, it is the lens through which the virtues of being Canadian are communicated to others. Without it we are doomed to the shallow rhetoric of commercial society. Long Live the CBC! |

| 359 | Judyth Mermelstein | Given that Canadians are widely dispersed geographically and almost constantly under the influence of American media, the best way of preserving a Canada worthy of the name is to provide a venue where Canadians can speak to one another and see themselves reflected in programming. The CBC/Radio Canada -- radio, television and now on the Internet -- is the only mechanism we have with which to achieve that. It can only do its job well when it has the means to develop (and help independent artists create) and broadcast excellent Canadian programming. The alternative, as we see today, is the "57 channels and there's nothing on" world of lowest-common-denominator programs suited to the purposes of hyping a consumerist lifestyle. Canadians have matured beyond that point; we want a real national dialogue that will enable us to build a just, healthy and sustainable future for our country. |

| 363 | Jesse J. Powell | One only has to look to the U.K. to see the enriching effects of a strong public broadcaster on a country's cultural landscape. Thanks to the BBC, QUALITY music is more popular than garbage music---imagine!! Quality bands from Canada and the US are forced to launch their carreers from the UK before domestic commercial radio stations will begin considering playing such material---ie. White Stripes, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, never mind The Beach Boys....and into every genre...you're more likely to hear the Be Good Tanyas in England than Canada! |
| 364 | Michael Janetakes | CBC is an important part of Canadian culture. It is up to the Canadian Government to acknowledge the demands of Canadian artists and those who wish to support us. The Canadian film industry makes billions of dollars and employs many thousand technicians and artists. Help to keep us employed. |

| 367 | DannyWoods | This is DannyWoods frontman for the Indie band "Write2theHead". This petition represents all us struggling unsigned artists who need to have forums to have their work heard. The music industry tries to squash all us little guys so the services the CBC provide give us an opportunity to get our work out there.Without the CBC I would just be another artist with an empty voice.Don't let my dream die and provide the necassary funding!!!...DannyWoods |

| 369 | Philippa Rogers | The CBC during the 1980s was an absolute joy to listen to. Every summer we would sit around the radio and listen to engaging stories and hilarious programming. I was no older than 10 and would sit still, attention rapt. People love to be read stories! |

| 371 | Heidi Little | CBC has helped promote and support some of the most ground breaking and revolutionary voices in multi media coming out of Sask and surrounding provinces. They work tirelessly to bring Canadians the truth and the beauty of this world. They deserve to be treated with respect and support. I love CBC |

| 373 | Mary Barone | |
| 374 | Michael A. R. Wright | The CBC is important to everyone I know. I don't understand why the government refuses to let this fine institution continue its tradition of excellence by supporting it the way it needs to be supported. |

| 389 | Teya Tamsen | I can't believe how demolished Vancouver's CBC has become ~:(( While the ZED Show and much much more should have thrived in Vancouver (not to mention the 2010 Olympics.. all the media grads in Vancouver with no jobs.. I continue to have to leave the province for media oriented jobs ~:(( ..
Why not just break down and provide some more funding to CBC Vancouver?! YOUR KILLING US.. AND EVERYONE LOSES.. ARE THE AMERICANS REALLY THAT IMPORTANT THAT WE SELL OFF EVERYTHING: INCLUDING JOBS; OUR EDUCATIONAL RIGHT FOR AN EDUCATED VOTE?!
WHERE TO DRAW THE LINE.. VANCOUVER'S MEDIA VOICE NEEDS TO GROW NOW!!!!!!! |
| 390 | Anonymous | CBC has been great to my son, a member of Raising The Fawn, and I hope to see the support continue for similar struggling artists (and my son, of course!)
Our artists deserve the best! |
