Anonymous | I just had to have mine removed last month after getting a fix it ticket. I also live in AZ and needed the tint for extreme temps there. Officer told me I still had to remove it.
rob | Just got a tinted window ticket in Long Beach on my Toyota Tundra.Give me break. This is the rediculous and a waste of time. Again, not to sound harsh, but Police/CHP officers knew the risks of the job when they took it. What is to stop a perp sitting in the back seat, with legally tinted windows, from smoking a cop?Doesn't make sense...Get the bad guys will you and put our tax dollars to better use.

Anonymous | I live in Calexico and temperatures excess of 120 degrees is common. Most drivers probably have darker left arms.
Chris McSparron | I agree 100%
Anonymous | I totally agree with you because I just got pull over and a "fix it" ticket for front window tinted when the front window are tinted in a decent manner that you can actually see tru. Well the point is that every time this happens you loose time and is really embarrasing how the whole california police (CHPs,Police, and Sheriffs) are so silly trying to show off that they are the law when should be focusing following and pulling over those gangster cars that you are 100% sure that on those cars you are going to find more than one ilegal weapon.

Anonymous | I think the law should lighten up on this one Oregon allows full tint

chris | i full heartedly agree 100%, in some areas of california the temperature can reach up to 120 degrees. why shouldnt we be able to protect OUR investment in a decent vehichle and save the dashboard and leather and our skin from being scorched by the heat.

Anonymous | Yes get this thing changed. There are other more important things to pull people over. I am a California State Correctional Officer and I just want my windows up front tinted because of safety. I have been followed home before after a parolee recognized me in the car. Another thing, when summer hits, those sun rays can be harmful to your skin. CHP Officers are the worst, theyll cut through traffic just to pull you over!
bob | Why do some other states have laws allowing 35% tint. Their officers don't need the safety?

Ryan Beltran | In Bakersfield CA the temperature is constantly in the 110's during the summer months, the tint law must be changed.

chad harper | what about the undercover & k9 cop cars? i have seen these with tinted front windows...whats with that???

Anonymous | This is completely valid, officer safety? my concern!? i dont think so - you knew the risks when you signed up. I deeply despise this law - i need tint to protect my health for one and furthermore my belongings from the prying eyes of theives and REAL CRIMINALS who arent being caught because cops are too busy worrying about my tint. (what a tragic comedy :P)

Ryan Jenson | I live in the central valley of California. It gets very hot, in excess of 100 degrees. I have 2 children under the age of 3 that would want the tint darker in California.
Gary | Yes, officers know the risks and just like any other job out there, there are risks to be taken. Still, there are safety measures taken whether you're a miner, constructor, or an office employee - laws and regulations are there there to protect the working people. Why do you think there are unions? This law is there for the same reason - to protect officers. Still, I wish the law would change.
