Richard HeltonThere is no valid reason to not allow tinting, other states allow it with no adverse safety issues.
AlexVery true. Some Officers could be in as much danger if the windows were not tinted.

AnonymousMaybe we should not be allowed to have curtains and blinds on our houses either just in case someone in the house has a gun when the cops show up...Stupid and Hypocritical Law! We should have a right to protect our skin, our vehicles interiors and also prevent thieves from looking in.

TaraLynnewe are the ONLY state that has such strict window tinting laws, and some of the newer cars come standard with a darker window tint based on "sell area", ie. hotter temps in the region!!!!!

Corkie Taylor-WashingtonThe tint law is redundant and unnecessary. It is also used selectively by law enforcement depending on the mood of the officer i.e.: probable cause. The tinting reduces the exposure of damaging sunrays, which have been medically proven to cause skin cancer and eye aliments. Exposure to the sun is as dangerous as smoking cigarettes. The tinting on vehicle windows is a safety measure that should be allowed by anyone who wishes to have it applied. Restricting window tinting to our vehicles is against our fundamental rights to choice.

AnonymousRight on. The variety of tint laws across the country suck for those who often go on inter-state trips and now must worry about being selectively popped.
AnonymousI don't believe that tinting side windows cause harm to anyone or anything. It's maining for UV protection to me.

AnonymousIf something where to happen reguardless if the car was tinted or not, it will happen...

AnonymousThis law has no real use except to gain revenue. Officer safety is obtained by running the car's plates first and calling into the station when they first pull you over. If they can't see into the car with the tint on, they should take off their sunglasses.

Terri McClearnI would like to see the law changed
AnonymousI just got a ticket in Ojai on Sun at 7am. CHP saw me as I was parking, so he gave me a ticket for tinted windows. What a loser!!
