The petition
Every year, the month of April is designated to celebrate and spread the word of “Cesarean Awareness Month”. This April the state of Connecticut was lucky enough to have a newly formed chapter of The International Cesarean Awareness Network to help promote awareness of the high numbers of cesarean births that are taking place across The United States as well as here in the state of Connecticut. When the International Cesarean Awareness Network of Connecticut submitted a copy of our Cesarean Awareness Month Proclamation to be recognized by our wonderful, bright, and well educated Governor Jodi Rell we were met with closed doors because the issue of Cesarean Awareness is too controversial.
In a state with the 7th highest cesarean birth rate in The United States standing at 34.1%, many of us believe that it is not a controversial subject, but one that we desperately need, and need government support on.
The following signatures are all concerned citizens in the state of Connecticut who are banding together to have Cesarean Awareness Month for April of 2009!
