The petition

The Broadview Avenue Public School community feels strongly about providing an integrated strong community school that offers dual tract French Immersion and English programs. Broadview currently hosts a very strong and successful Late French Immersion (LFI) program which contributes to the overall strength of the school and our neighbouring high school. Without a French Immersion program, Broadview will face a declining enrolment and the future of our school will be at risk.
Broadview Avenue Public School will not accept the elimination of the current LFI program unless A. This program is replaced immediately (September 2008) by both Early and Middle French Immersion programs, and B. Those students who are currently in Grades 4 through 7 are able to take advantage of the existing program at our site prior to it being phased out.
The parents at Broadview Avenue School present this petition to the OCDSB as proof of our determination to keep Broadview Avenue School a strong community school.
