Janette Anne Santos | Music is an integral part of many people's lives and i f you decide to take it away from us, that's just denying us our say in our lives. Why do this and not consult the very people this bill is affecting? Just because we are young does NOT mean we are any less deserving of respect.

Samantha Allen | +18 shows are safe and fun experiences for all parties involved. By 18, we're mature enough to make our own decisions. Let us save and rejoice in the music scene of Boston as we transition from the teenage years to adulthood. The Boston music scene has always been dying, even before I was hitting up shows there - please don't hurt he culture anymore!

Anonymous | I frequently travel from Maine to attend shows in Boston, so this affects people who live beyond city limits as well.

Anonymous | DON'T SHUT DOWN 18+ SHOWS!!!!! If that happens, more kids will just sneak into 21+ shows and get drunk there. Now we have drunk kids running around.
Brett | no matter how tight you grip, we will sink through.
Richard Sorensen | They can't just ban anything they want whenever they feel like it. this is bullshit, and nobody's gonna take this.

Kate Burgess | In times of struggling economy, is it not better to embrace business, not drive it away? Institutions that hold 18+ events do so to protect themselves and the individuals in attendance. Serving alcohol is permitted at such events, and the individuals who interact with eachother are old enough to be responsible and aware of the situation/persons they are around. By no longer allowing institutions the ability to have 18+ events, you are limiting the ability for said institutions to sell alcohol, or far worse, are allowing them to serve those of age in the presence of minors (which, as we all know, can become a horrific mix). Even far worse, limiting venues to having no age limitations forces these institutions to allow any and everyone in, and will hence drive older persons looking for a night "off from babysitting" away from Boston's most popular night spots. What's next, all age bars?
Matt Partlow | This is a bad decision for the music and art scene in general. The participation of the 18 to 21 year old age group is critically important for a thriving music and arts community.
Chester Underwood | Horrible idea to ban 18+ shows, this is bad for Boston Music and will end up with more vandalism and juvinile crime. I'm a 28 year old Boston Voter.

gillian chase | not ok. 18+ shows foster a life long love for music that is unclouded by drinking

Andrew English | Individuals under the age of 21 make up the life-blood of the music scene in Boston. To ban them from shows would be a grave mistake and would quickly damage much of the appeal of a city heavily populated by college-aged students

Kirk Marshall | This is an outrage!! I remember all the shows I got to go to when I was under 21 and younger than 18 as well! If this had been in effect I wouldnt have seen any bands when I was younger! Just another example of social marxism at its worst!

Susan Navarre | Music is an important art, one that holds a community together. If anything, zoning and laws restricting music shows should be liberalized in Boston, not tightened. At 18, a person is no longer a minor: let them make an adult decision to go see live music.
