Are you a Booksin Elementary parent or neighbor? Did you know that Booksin is planning on installing solar panels on the black top and grass area? Construction was supposed to begin on Monday, December 5. The current plan calls for a 200 ft by 40 ft structure. The structure would be 16ft at its highest points and 10ft at it's lowest point. This structure would take away hard top area from the students as well as obstruct the view for neighbors. Also, there is concern for the safety of the students as construction workers have already been on campus during school hours and the project is expected to take 3 months. We would also like to know what type of safe guards are in place to assure that our children's safety is a priority. We are requesting that the school district put this project on indefinite hold until a community meeting can be held with the district.
