| 301 | Russell Irwin | Just left Virgin Media. My god I'm happy, going to get Sky + BeBroadband. Don't care how much more it costs so long as I never have to speak to VM again. Was with them for 5 weeks and had no TV and Broadband for 4 weeks and 5 days. 1st muppet installer simply disconnected my neighbour and plugged me into their cable. 2nd installed re-connected by neighbour and disconnected me without bothering to tell me. 3rd installed explained the above but could do nothing citing that a new cable was needed from the top of the street. 4th installer didn't turn up and VM didn't bother to call. Finally found out that there was a car parked over a manhole that they needed access to. 5th installer claimed that they would need to dig up the street as my cable didn't go anywhere. He had no idea about the manhole under the car. Once I pointed this out to him he said that they would come back every 2 weeks and if there was no car parked over the manhole then they'd do the job. Said it could take up to 6 months, I kid you not.
Not much more to say other than really look forward to the day VM go under as they surely deserve to. |
| 302 | Shirish Mistry | I completely agree with you that choosing Virginmedia has been the worst decision I have ever made. Unbelieveably bad service since the day of installation. The engineer came in for 5 mins, said he'll be back in 5 mins and never came back. Another engineer was sent 5 hours after the first one turned up, he made a mess in my house, rushed the job, was unable to install the phone, had no PIN for broadband, cut my BT cable when I asked him not to and did not even give me a demo on how to use the V+ box. I'm still trying to get this all resolved as my phone line still does not work. More than happy to sign this petition. |
| 303 | laetitia muir | Awful service from Virgin! |
| 304 | D NEAFCY | I have been a virgin media customer for over 12 months and in that time have had to ring them at least once a month EVERY month with problems steming from phoneline not reciving incoming calls, tv being cut off, no broadband signal, reciving a bill one month then none the next and just about everything in-between, to cut a looooooong story short today there "customer" service team rang me to disguss the problem, it was a lady named gill from wythenshawe faults team whom made maggie thatcher seem like a pussy cat, I have geniunly never been spoken to as arrogantly and condasending in my life, when I asked to be put through to her manager I was cut off, I have now reduced my package from the v-i-p (ha ha more like r-i-p!!) to the basic package and will be switching to another provider asap, Virgin media does not deserve peoples hard earned monry as they have no appreciation for us the customer. and next time I see Samuel L Jackson ill be sure to bring this to his attention! |
| 305 | lorraine | VM broadband is totally rubbish,moreoften offline that online,really slow |
| 306 | Anonymous | Using the 20Mb Package and i never ever have above 5Mb, maybe at 4am in the morning - but useless, no?
High pings & the default DNS servers were so bad i was practically forced to switch to OpenDNS.
Email servers are slow and often delay emails for days at a time. |
| 307 | Darren W | 20mb service is an absolute disgrace. I cant remember the last time I hit a download speed greater than 7mb, or equally as important...a latency lower than 600ms. Browsing is almost as slow as dial-up and thats NO EXAGERATION. Was promised an improvement around 6th March 08, as thats when my area 'supposedly' upgraded to the new 2-tier platform/infrastructure. Im still waiting.
"Faster than a speeding bullet" .... Id happily stand in front of the gun whilst somebody pulls the trigger |
| 308 | daniel knox | We moved over to virgin in 2007 summer time. At first our internet was brilliant connecting with the exchange at 8mb/s and obtaining a download speed of around 6mb/s. However in the last few months our internet has severally dropped. Around 4pm till 10pm our internet struggles to around 77kb/s downspeed but 365kb/s upspeed. Our equipment is up to date and a we certainly do not have virus's or trojans (linux user). We cant run any torrent services and rarely do now so we dont think we are being capped. If they are they seem to cap you then turn away and never review you. At the moment we struggle to run more than one service on our internet. Either a game or skype in use will bring all web browsing to a hault. Iplayer doesnt work period. Service is hence terrible! Having to pipe internet through my own caching service and DNS servers to try and counter virgins awlful speeds to some degree. Looking into changing to a better providor so no longer have to put up with rubbish customer service on hold lines and lousey dialup equivallant web speeds. |
| 309 | Edward Lilley | No problems with payments yet, but regularly getting download speeds less than 10 kb/s.
Yet another example of Virgin Media selling mroe bandwidth than they can provide. |
| 310 | Anonymous | i thought AOL were bad...These people are taking all their customers as idiots..ripping as many people off as they can & forcing people into VERBAL contracts without their knowing.Virgin Media are Very underhand,Very cunning & the service they provide is the worst out of all these big companies,PAH! crap.we have to call Virgin every 3 weeks due to wrong bills,in 3 diff accounts for this address! i EMPLORE anyone thinking of signing up to VIRGIN STOP! if your on the fone to them now HANG UP! as soon as you give them your details they've got you..your f****. |
| 311 | NJ | I seriously hope Virgin Media go bust when they start disconnecting people for using torrents. They make out like I'm the criminal for downloading the Simpsons... Well if they were not so good at annoying the 'duck' out of everyone including Rupert Murdoch then I wouldn't have to. Not that I support or defend Rupert Murdoch in any way; He is a much shadier charachter than Richard Branson & the pair of them are criminals in my opinion. Unlimited Broadband my eye - THAT'S A BLATANT LIE. Why Ofcom fails to do anything about it is beyond me. It's just like everything else in this country at the moment - shocking is not the word, the words I want to inject into this forum I can't, because unlike Virgin Media I am not on a mission to offend & intimidate the masses. It's time people took a stand, not just against ISPs but the whole ducking police state we're sleepwalking into. They're going to play the pedophile card next, they're not interested in pedophiles or protecting children though, they interested in controlling every aspect of your (what will be) pathetic lives. |
| 312 | Andy | Been with Blueyonder/Virgin Media for over 5 years and have seen a gradual decline in the quality of my connection (ie lost connections and slowdown). Blueyonder and Telewest were market leaders at one point with almost zero complaints and high levels of customer satisfaction. I know its tough at the top, but they must have done something right to get there, use that formula VirginM and get the service back to the same high standard as Bluyonder had it!! |
| 313 | Anonymous | I have only been with Virgin Broadband for 3 weeks I have paid for unlimited but only ever received between 1KB and 1.5 MB. This is a total scam. They had to test the line for the first 10 days -so 1KB at most times -but I was still charged for unlimited. The line test stopped and they immediately capped the line without warning. I have an online degree course but have to work in the local internet cafe as we are not allowed to watch the lectures online due to the 'Fair Usage Policy"? |
| 314 | Anonymous | My problem with virgin media is that i was allocated a telephone number for a completely different area to which i live and i get constant phone calls for a Mr Andrew Learmont one of which was from virgin media! I have telephone several times to complain and written to the complaints department who told me that was the number they were providing and tough! I informed them that i would be looking for a new provider and they told me you do that then clearly they do not value there customers. I have also found it very difficult to speak with there customer advisors as none of them can speak proper english! I will be removing virgin media as soon as my contract is up! |
| 315 | Anonymous | I am appalled by the complete lack of service we receive from Virgin and the utter stupidity of some of the things they ask you to do when you ring and complain about lack of broadband service - I work from home a lot of the time and it is now almost impossible to send and receive emails with any degree of reliability - a single email with no attachments can take up to 5 minutes to send. |
| 316 | Elaine Marshall | Finally canceled all 3 services last week, 30 days notice.
Only just found about the new day time traffic management as I got hit today.
This company are now taking the Michael, What should be a 20mb connection is really a 5mb or below for over 10 hours per day.
I ordered the 20mb connection as I use it for streaming and catch up tv, not anymore I won't be.
Back to BT and BE Unlimited |
| 317 | Anonymous | Have been a customer of virgin since 2006. Recently rang to cancel the contract, but they refused. The reason being that they had someone elses name on the account. I have all bills since the contract started, and they all clearly show my name on the account, yet they still refuse to close it., leaving me no choice but to refuse payment |
| 318 | Anonymous | Virgin are getting very poor with customer servce and the quaility of their services that we pay for, esspecially with the broadband and the HD content. It needs changing now or our bills reducing! |
