New Product Marketing - Professor Jain

This petition is to document student dissatisfaction with Sanjay Jain's teaching in BUMK 711, New Product Marketing. The need for this comes due to his departure from the Smith School to Texas A&M.

Professor Jain will be leaving Smith (UMD) to go to Texas A&M immediately following the conclusion of this semester.

While Professor Jain has won prestigious awards at the Krannert School (Purdue) for distinguished teaching, and is an accomplished researcher, it is clear to the student body of his class that he has not lived up to his potential, in fact delivering sub par performance to current students.

This can logically lead to the conclusion that he is acting as a "lame duck" as his departure dictates that his performance will have no consequence, as student course reviews are not discussed until the following semester.

Sanjay Jain is leaving Smith for an opportunity to become a tenured professor at Texas A&M.
