The petition
This is a petition in support of obtaining a permanent lighted facility for the Bridgewater Soccer Association ("BSA"), which will be conducive to the development of the Bridgewater children in the program. The facility we seek will have lights for both practices and games, if necessary.
BSA has been a part of the Bridgewater community since 1975, providing many opportunities for its players. Since its inception, BSA has grown dramatically – today servicing upwards of 500 players across 39 teams, and it is operated completely by volunteer residents from Bridgewater.
BSA provides an environment that enhances the development of our youth for the rigors and demands of competitive soccer. Its mission is to promote, sponsor and conduct a supervised program of soccer training and competition for our youth in the Bridgewater area. It is committed to developing the young soccer player, by combining a strong moral, technical and social foundation for every roster player. BSA has long been a feeder program to Bridgewater High School, and the statewide success of Bridgewater's high school soccer teams – both boys and girls – is well known.
As BSA continues to grow it needs facilities that can be used to develop its players. As of now, BSA does not have a permanent home, and having provided benefits to thousands of Bridgewater kids over the past 30 plus years, it is time. We ask only that BSA be afforded the same opportunities as all other sports groups in this town such as Bridgewater Baseball and Pop Warner Football.
