BCapehartSDOne man's terrorist is another man's future secret police force (as we now see with Tanzim and Force 17) and a third man's homicidal maniac (any decent Catholic or Protestant civilian living in Northern Ireland has known all along). For which does the BBC pine?
Donnella WhitacreORUSI am so tired of the two faced treatment of Israel. All over the world this week we hear the Russians delt with those terrorists in the right manner, even if they did kill civilians along the way. The U.S. has killed and covered up its mistakes in Afganistan. And let us not forget Britians treatment of its colonial people? So why the outrage and horror at Israel's need to protect her boarders from terrorists? After all, they are invading Israeli land, not the other way around. And you allow Muslims and terrorists on British soil to assult Jews and burn their Synugogues and Cemetaries? Why do you feel the need to appease the Muslims and not the Jews. Oil the bigger right here?
JordanMarksMAUSI expect this petition to have no impact on BBC's clearly one-sided reporting on the Middle East, but sign my name to encourage them to take the slightest step towards fair coverage and call things by their real name. In the words of Confucius, "In order to restore justice to a country it is first necessary to call things by their right names."

Arnold TrebachDCQuare: if Palestinians blow up a bus full of school children in London, what appellation will be applied to them by the BBC?
RachaelLevinPAUSI, by signing this petition, call upon the BBC to demonstrate moral leadership and journalistic integrity and to label terror as it is. I call upon the British government to ensure that British taxpayers' money is not contributed to the BBC's own political ends and instead to conforming to its own guidelines. and stop the biased reporting
RobertDiStefanoNYUSIt is time that you were consistent in your use of the word terrorist. What applies to one should apply to all.

JacobAdlerARUSThere are objective definitions of the word "terrorism." I would suggest that the BBC adopt a defintion and speak accordingly. The BBC's moral handwashing is appalling--would one also avoid the word murder? After all, what one person would call a murderer, someone else would call an individualist or freedom-fighter.
MayaNewmanWAUSIn the Spring of 2002, I spent four months on an American program in Israel. I Lived in Jerusalem during the height of the terror. One could sense that the atmosphere was filled, with depression, saddness, and overall tension. We visited victims in the hospitals...victims of terror...terrorist attacks! One cannot deny the truth, the facts. The terrorist attacks occured and occur almost weekly. Its horrible. Its horrible that the Palestinians are in such a terrible state that they can be brainwashed by groups like Hammas. It all has to end. Israel is not perfect, but Israel needs help fighting against this terror. As was shown in Septemeber 11 in New York, or in Kenya last week...terror is spreading. It is easy to sit back and judege the situation believing that it will not come near your country, but the truth is, if the world does not joint together to stop these horrific events, then soon there will not be anyone to speak out. BBC refusal to completely reject the terrorists, is only pushing people away from findng a solution. People are being brainwashed that the situation in the Middle East is not that big of a deal. Well it is huge, and it is atrocious! I promise that if this form of power demostrated by terrorist groups such as Hammas or Al Queda prove to successful, others will follow. It is a scary world, and the terror must end.

IlanaHerringMAUSjust this morning (Dec 3, 2002) i listened to the BBC describe the condition of palestinian children affected by the violence. no mention was made of israeli children who are obviously equally affected by the violence. furthermore, arent children in afghanistan and in the numerous other countries currently expereiencing violence, also negatively affected by violence? what child wouldnt be affected by the killing of their family and community members? yet the BBC ONLY highlights palestinian children, leading listeners to conclude that there this must be a "pet" issue for the BBC. it is sad and disturbing that children are co-opted for the BBC's ant-israel agenda. i will continue to listen to the BBC. i do not believe in boycotting media, especially because NPR (which airs the BBC) has no competition. i hope that the BBC will redirect its efforts to focus instead on balanced reporting.

EugeniaRubinovFII am completely fed up with the BBC's game of "moral equivalence". I wonder how its journalist would report if the same terrorist attacks would happen kin Britain. Would they also avoid calling terrorism by its proper name?
