| 811 | Ed Milam | Atlanta Firefighters should have parity with police officers. Attrition of police officers is a poor excuse for not maintaining parity. Please vote yes to to overide the Mayor's veto. |

| 813 | Tim King | They deserve and earn every penny they get, please give them the raise, it's the right thing to do. |

| 830 | LORAINE HARRISON | ATLANTA FIREFIGHTER'S DESERVE FAIRNESS AND EQUALITY IN PAY, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS WOULD RIGHTFULLY BELONG TO THEM. THE MAYOR OF ATLANTA OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T SUPPORT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, SO THE NEXT ORDER OF BUSINESS SHOULD BE TO REPLACE HER WITH SOMEONE THAT DOES. |
| 831 | eric lindemann | i am also a firefighter and believe that they have been treated unfairly, i want to show my support for our brothers |
| 832 | Betsy Clark | a certain Atlanta firefighter is a dear friend of ours and busts his butt for as much training as he can get....he would be an asset to ANY city firefighter organization |

| 834 | jameca Williamson | It is very impressive that the firemen and firewomen have made the decision to risk their lives each time that they come into work for their fellow man. I commend them for the small things that they do for the community.. Fire safety and awareness, taking blood pressure, and just being a safe haven within the commnunty. |
| 835 | Marie Barrett | I just want to thank and say that the firemen in my community have been a blessing they take my pressure give me directions and are just deserving of the raise |

| 843 | sandi minichiello | The reason for this email is to let you know that the mayor
>>recently vetoed a 3.5% raise for Atlanta firefighters. This same
>>raise was approved for Atlanta Police as part of an effort to keep
>>police officers from leaving the department. We don’t believe its
>>fair to value one set of public safety officers over another and
>>feel that the Atlanta Firefighters are being penalized for their
>>dedication and commitment to the city. Additionally, Atlanta
>>Firefighters are currently paid 20% less than firefighters in the
>>surrounding metro area. This is unacceptable. The mayor has stated
>>that the money for the firefighter’s pay raise does not exist, but
>>that simply isn’t true. There was a 16 million dollar surplus this
>>year and the city council has already adjusted the budget to
>>accommodate the raise. The firefighters are ready every day to
>>assist members of the Atlanta community in their time of need. And
>>we believe their loyalty should be rewarded, not punished. This
>>veto can be overturned if 10 city council members vote to do so. We
>>need your support to make this happen. |

| 848 | Jennifer Smith | The Brave and Strong Men and Women of the Atlanta F.D. deserves the increase in pay! Just as the Police Officers of the city, these men and women also risk their lives ---to save the citizens of Atlanta.
For those who don't think they deserve it, just ask yourself this - have you rushed into a burning building to save a child without knowing if the floor is going to cave out from beneth you or if the ceiling is going to fall on you?
Think about it - if someone risks their lives to save yours - don't they deserve a little more respect? The best way to show them the respect they deserve is to give them the pay they deserve! |
| 849 | Anonymous | I am a union brother from DeKalb. I do not support Mayor Franklin screwing my Atlanta brothers. In this day and time we all need to be paid more. |
