| 703 | Patrick Bradshaw | There is no excuse for denying our firefighters wage parity with our police officers. Firefighters work harder and put their lives at risk daily just like the police. Playing the fire department against the police is horrible for morale and inexcusable. Shame on Mayor Franklin, and shame on the council members who voted against the raise. It seems some within our council have no qualms with taking the firefighter's money and running:

| 724 | Eugenia H. Wells | Please vote to overide
the mayor's veto or we
are at risk to lose masses of our trained & experienced firefighters. They deserve better! |
| 725 | Deborah Powell | Why is it that our Fire fighters have to go every year after year with with the same thing? it really don't look good other county is seating back and laughing at this! They train in Atlanta and then go to another county to serve! but I have just one question what do you have against the our firemens? |
| 726 | Kenneth Wells | Firefighters are every bit as important as the
police officers & should
be equally paid. Do what is fair & overide
the mayor's veto!! |

| 731 | Jeremiah Tapp | I think it is awful that the city mayor and council would treat some of the citys best workers this way. What is the police going to do for you when your nice beautiful house is burning not a thing. |

| 736 | Brian Gary | I work regularly in Atlanta. So does a majority of my family. The very idea that you would not provide pay parity to the only people capable of SAVING lives is unacceptable. These men and women have repeatedly suffered wage discrimination at the hand of the city council and the mayor. These folks dedicate over 1/3 of their lives to protect and save the citizens AND workers of the city of Atlanta.
It seems the city can needlessly waste money on renaming the airport, hiring substandard contractors to meet a ridiculous minorities quota, develop the single worst "city song" i've ever heard, and continuosly fund every whim of the APD.
Its about time the city fathers recognize the commitment and sacrifice these men and women make for all the people they help. Stop screwing them out of the same pension and raises that you are giving to the APD. |

| 740 | Anonymous | This is a disgrace to Public Saftey, Firefighters and Police Officers should never be compared in a negitive manner. To say that APD deservs a raise more so than AFD is a great injustice to all the men and women of Atlanta Fire Department. If this continues the the City of Atlanta will start loosing existing members of the department as well as future canidatesto other Fire departments. The citizens of the City of Atlanta should take this situation with great concern for ther lives and property. |
