| 686 | Frank Grantham | I fully support the Atlanta Firefighters. As a fellow Firefighter I truly belive that we do not get the respect we deserve. Fight on Brothers |
| 687 | Hildegarde E Summerour | The firefighters deserve equal pay to the Police Dept. Do not penalize one department and favor the other. Seems to me that there are more problems w/APD than just pay if the police are only keeping 4 out of 64 recruites. |

| 692 | Cynthia Martin | I support a raise for Atlanta's firefighters. The firefighters have the highest customer satisfaction rating compared to any other city department. Isn't this what should determine who gets a raise? Forget that this is simply a cost of living raise. Because most firefighters can't afford to live in the city, how does city council propose they pay for the rising cost of fuel that enables them to get to work??? Why is it that departments only get attention when bad things are happening within them (i.e, police)? If firefighters began a mass exodus to the suburbs where they will receive better (and fairer) compensation, will you then give them a raise in a desperate attempt to keep them?? This is, of course, after you have driven a wedge between fire and police and demoralized our firefighters. Wake up, city council! It's time to return to Leadership: 101. When employees surpass expectations, they are rewarded. City council, represent your consituents by giving these brave men and women their gas money to get to work!!!! |
