Our Brother, Mohammed Azzan of Yemen was detained without evidence by the Yemeni authorities upon arrival last July 9, 2004, after attending the Rights at Home Advanced Training in Lebanon, focusing on human rights and Islam.
This petition is to pressure the Yemeni authorities to release Mr. Azzan as soon as possible. Mr. Azzan's location is unknown. He has no lawyer and his family is very desperate to know of his whereabouts.
Please sign this petition to urge the Yemeni authorities to release Mr. Azzan immediately, provide his family with access to him, and knowledge of his location as well as provide him with legal support.
We firmly condemn these violations in the name of fighting terrorism and call upon the government of Yemen to announce the place where they hold Azzam and let him be visited by his attorney, family and friends, in accordance with the national and international laws.
We call upon the Yemeni authorities to release Mohammed Azzam as a real step to real reform.
We also appeal for all the national regional and international organizations and activists working for human rights to support the attempts of releasing of Azzam.
We express our thanks for your support in advance and promise to continue struggling against torture and for the full range, without exception, of our human rights.
