George Galloway, Member of Parliament for the constituency of Bethnal Green & Bow for the Respect political party, has broken the law by expressing his support for a proscribed terrorist group in the UK.
On the 22nd July, Galloway declared: “Hizbollah is leading that resistance. I do not hesitate to say, and Blair and his law officers may take note, that I glorify that resistance. I glorify the Hizbollah national resistance movement, and I glorify the leader of Hizbollah, Sheikh Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.”
Hizballah is a proscribed terrorist group in the UK. See http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/s...
“Once a group is proscribed under powers in the Terrorism Act 2000, it becomes an offence to be a member of, or provide or show support for it,” says J Fanshaw of the Home Office.
We call upon the British government to take action against this MP who does the country a great disservice.
Failing to take action simply shows supporters of terror that they can freely continue to support terror without facing the law. This is not what the UK wants nor needs. |
