Restore the 2nd Amendment in Arkansas

We the undersigned citizens of the sovereign state of Arkansas respectfully request the attention and action of the state to restore our inalienable right of self-protection and our constitutional right to keep and bear arms under the 2nd Amendment. The Arkansas Concealed Carry Law passed by the legislature and signed into law by the governor was a well intended, but flawed attempt to guarantee Arkansas citizens their right to self-protection. We Request the following changes to the law:

1) Remove The Fees: A free people should not have to “rent” the right to protect themselves.

2) Remove The Training And Certification Requirements: Criminals do not pay for firearms training and certification, but law-abiding citizens must under this statute, simply creating another bureaucracy.

3) Remove The Paperwork: If a citizen has no felony convictions, mental impairment, or other disqualification from legally owning a firearm, the permit shall be issued.

4) Remove The Restrictions: Under the law as written, a citizen gives up the right to carry a weapon where it might be needed most.

Restoring the rights of citizens who choose to protect themselves will help to make Arkansas a safer place for all citizens.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned
