| 71 | Ernie & Pat Scales | Don't buy goods made in China - espacially pet toys. And tell your supplier that they should source goods elsewhere. |
| 72 | mark james | the only way to have any impact on this barbaric treatment is to not buy anything made in china, and to put an embargo on all imported goods |

| 82 | Janet Stiles | How can a modern nation be allowed to behave in such a barbaric way? Their deliberate cruelty must surely shock any civilised country. The Chinese authorities should be ashamed and take action.
I could not now contemplate going to that country. |
| 83 | Maureen L Osborn | This is the most appalling cruelty and should be stopped. Without question it is horrific. Those of us in the West who love and care for our animals are outraged that this practice still goes on today. In this day and age it should be banned. The suffering of these poor animals haunts me. I refuse to buy any Chinese goods whilst this is still happening in China. The Chinese should learn to have respect for animals. Would these men like to beat unconscious with iron bars in this way and eaten??? Shame on them and their barbaric acts. |

| 85 | Jo Joss | There is absolutely no excuse for the cruel and barbaric way these animals are being treated, there is surely a more humane way to kill these animals. I will never visit China on principal whilst this mass cruelty exists and I will not be watching the Beijing Olympics. I am absolutely horrified and saddened that this is allowed to happen. |

| 89 | Anonymous | The killing of animals for food is not repellent to most people in the world who eat poultry, cows, sheep, goats, horses etc.
It is the method of keeping and slaughtering which offends us in the so-called civilised world.
If long-term suffering to an animal by its keeper is caused , or a painful death is administered then we should act.
Good luck with your campaign against the brutal Chinese. |
| 90 | Bernice Emanuel | |
| 91 | Elaine Ratcliffe | Please Please stop this Barbaric trading...Man's Best friend should not be treated this way! And those POOR Poor cats, my heart is aching for them |
| 92 | Karen Pudney | |
| 93 | Malcolm Grant Purvis | As with other issues, like the dog fur trade, this is Chinese culture, and hence the Chinese government is unwilling to act - partly because they too are imbued with the culture, and it's a wholesale cultural change that is required. They need to be incentivised. So the question is whether a boycott of the Olympics would be counterproductive or an opportuntity to communicate alternatives. Or does it require direct economic action in the form of a cessation of trade. Everyone who buys cheap socks or underwear in the supermarket carries a small part of the guilt. |
| 94 | vanessa sultana | |
| 95 | keely Smith | If Karma actally exists it's no wonder the world is slowly dieing. Humanity needs to wake up and smell the coffee. |
