Support a California Animal Commission

We want Governor Schwarzenegger to establish a volunteer, state commission, which will advise localities how to move their public animal shelters in the direction of "no kill."

The purpose of this Commission is threefold:
a) to end the killing dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. at city and county animals shelters.
b) to reduce the cost born by taxpayers. It can cost up to $250 to feed, house and eventually kill one animal.
c) to make the California a leader in animal welfare.

The authority of the Governor's office is needed for the success of this project!

We presented our proposal to the Governor's Cabinet Secretary in February 2005. Since then, we have had phone conversations with other members of his Cabinet. There is no decision yet from the Governor on this matter.

The Commission will be volunteer, cost the state and taxpayers nothing and serve in an advisory capacity. Fur futher information, go to http://www.animalcommission.or...
