1. While Ladner's investigation is on-going, he should be suspended without pay.
2. Based on President Ladner's unethical attitude, he should be terminated from his position as President.
3. All non-university related expenditures should be reimbursed directly to the University's budget
4. An active IRS investigation should be conducted in lieu of AU's federal 501(C)(3) status on all departments financial expenditures.
5. All compensation and salary packages of executive positions be determined in-line with non-profit legal status and commensurate with the size and forecasted budget of the school.
Considering AU students recently experienced a 6% increase in tuition, and that AU continues to be lacking several fundamental services in comparison to other schools of equal academic stature (recognized research-library; adequate number of classrooms, war chest for student research, etc.), it seems shocking that it took an anonymous tip to realize that American's finances could have been misappropriated.
It is time that the students, faculty and alumni of AU had new leadership that represents AU's legacy of producing leaders that serve for the betterment of society.
Transparency and communication seems to be critically lacking amongst the Board of Trustees at a time when it is needed most. |

American University has survived because of its reputation for having an outstanding world-class faculty and student body. It is for these two very important reasons that American University has attracted generous donations and grants from private resources over the years. It would be a shame and embarrassment for the University and detrimental to the student's and faculty to allow any further mismanagement of University funds. |
