Jon ComerGood Point made about the inflight entertainment. Why is it such a regular occurance in economy class for the 'SeatBack' video screens not working? I think for most of us travelling would find the journey far less harrowing if the entertainment system were working. Being the sceptic I am, I guess there is a deeper, darker reason for them not working - perhaps it saves money, perhaps it makes the passengers more attentive to the cabin crew when they bark at the passengers? Who knows? However, the reasons for NOT flying with Air Canada increase as every day goes by. Is not the Government embarressed by the Country's Flag Carrier? I know I am.
Renee LesterI am a frequent flyer, and I will be as my career is only getting started. I am deeply dissapointed in the service I receive from Air Canada time and time again. From now on I go with Westjet
Chris & Carla Woodworth-LynasApril 24th: Attempt to fly to LHR: flight 657 from St. John's to Halifax cancelled due to mechanical failure (after TWO HOURS SWELTERING IN AN A CABIN IN WHICH THEY COULDN'T REGULATE HEAT and wouldn't allow passengers to get off), to catch the flight to London from Halifax WHICH USED TO STOP IN ST. JOHN'S (until Air Canada deemed it "unprofitable"). April 25th: The re-booked flight (691 to Toronto for morning connection to LHR) was cancelled due to "fog" (flight deviated to Gander) leaving us stranded AGAIN. Funny how even Continental Airlines could land here (on a flight we took from Newark to St. John's 4 weeks prior) in strong crosswinds - after 2 (that's right two) Air Canada flights ahead of us couldn't land and deviated elsewhere due to the same winds that Continental managed to cope with. St. John's supposedly has an automated flight landing system that is designed to allow aircraft to land in inclement (foggy) weather. So what gives?? Air Canada ISN'T a National Carrier - it's a sham and a disgrace.
Joanna PyneI have been very disappointed over the last few years with regards to items stolen from my baggage. I had to go through hell and back to find receipts for my stolen merchandise. Were in a time where security measures are very high and they should apply as well to their baggage handlers. Air Canada did not even offer an explanation as to why this had occurred but apologized. UNACCEPTABLE! They need to place a policy where their baggage handlers are checked upon leaving the airports.
rob rosenbergDoes anyone have the email address to Air Canada, which maybe someone will read there.

Verlin WiebeMy wife was at the gate to fly out of Regna when they asked everyone to return to the luggage area after their flight was canceled. She is pregnant and was dealing with high blood pressure and not once did Air Canada offer any reimbursement even though it was due to technical problems (computer failed). She missed her flight out of Toronto to Sao Paulo that night and Air Canada informed her she could stay in the airport over night as they wouldn't cover any hotels.!
Rick WarfordI am still awaiting to get my lost luggage, which has been missing for nearly 4 months... The Baggage Claim Process is geared to dissuade people to keep looking for their bag and eventually just give up... This is the 4th time my luggage has been 'lost', and now it looks like I won't be lucky enough to recover this one... Numerous forms, phone calls, emails have been a complete waste of my time... And their policy of having to produce receipts for ALL items in your luggage, give me a break... Who keeps receipts for tooth-paste? And not paying for electronics or jewelery, we may as well travel with nothing and purchase everything when we get to our destinations... Absolute B/S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carla RuizI was disgusted when I flew Air Canada for the first time in January, and ended up being put in a minivan with broken seatbelts, and not enough seating for 6 hours from Edmonton to Fort McMurray. Yes, I am aware that the trip should have been faster than 6 hours, but the cabbie had no idea where he was going. Got to the destination in one piece, to find no luggage! What a surprise, they say. When I complained about the delay, the drive (I paid for a flight), and the luggage...I was given a $50 credit...that had to be used on a future flight. I didn't want to think of flying with them after the first experience!!

AnonymousOn my most recent trip from Toronto to LA, flying Air Canada was a complete nightmare. I was not surprised when I was created by the 50 year old monotonous ro-bitch at the front desk. (Btw, we had arrived at the hours THREE hours before the flight was scheduled to leave and we still barely got onto the flight due to the slow, painful check-in lineup. As we proceeded into the security section, a white couple had asked one of the security guards if they could skip the que as their flight (the same one I was taking) was about to leave. The security guard says "no" for a while then finally lets them skip the que. Realizing this, I thought I'd do the same thing. What was I told? "You most certainly may not skip the que. Please proceed to the back of the line". That's right! Even after asking for an explanation of why he allowed the other couple go through, I got no reponse * AND * he would not even allow me to go to my original spot in line, but RIGHT TO THE BACK. Anyways, so the plane took an hour to get off the ground and the service was absolutely horrible as always. Once I finally arrived in LA, both my luggage and my son's luggage were nowhere to be seen. After wasting two days of our vacation waiting for Air Canada to track down our luggage, they said they could not find it. Outraged, I demanded to speak with several people (many of which said they would "call me back" and never did) and one lady was finally able to track downt he luggage. She said she had shipped the luggage off to the hotel in FedEx. Of course, the luggage never showed up and after spending hours trying to get a hold of the same lady, she said they "got the street right but the hotel number wrong" which is complete bullshit considering there was only one hotel on that street. Anyway, the luggage arrived and we received no apology. Air Canada is hell in the sky.
Matthew P. PonsfordAir Canada is a disgrace to this country and I really think it should be investigated as to why they have the right to have our country's name in their company title. They have messed up dozens of my friends' flights. I can't even bring myself to get started talking about this .... Matthew Ponsfordx
AnonymousHave experienced very bad service concerning lost baggage.
Kunal Dev ChandraHad a horrible flight going from Ottawa to Newark via Toronto. The flight from Toronto to Newark was very bad where the flight attendants didn't do anything and the flight was cancelled without notice. When leaving Canadian Customs to complain to the airline, they refuses to pay for the hotel which costed me almost $450 for one night. Air Canada used to be a good airline, now these days is fee for this, fee for that. Seriously non sense of this airline they need to restructure how they treat their passengers & the services needs serious improvements.

Sean MorrissAir Canada is immune to Government and Customer complaints. I was an Elite member who blacklisted Air Canada 18 months ago. No flights with them since. May they go under when they bankrupt again. Arrogance is an understatement applied to them.
AnonymousAs a frequent flyer I am tired of being nickled and dimed to death for Lousy service!
Anne Brandt
David WilsonWhat can I add that has not been said many times over. Air Canada is the poster child for poor customer service. It seems that Canadians like to be abused, belittled and dehumanized to the point that we continue to board their jets just to experience that. I have had my experience, similar to others, stranded, unable to travel and facing a response from Air Canada staff that was both abusive and disrespectful considering I paid their salaries. We were threatened with arrest if we spoke out minds, we were told to behave and spoken to with such disrespect it was unbearable. How they survive and why they do not make changes is beyond me.

ROBERT GRAYAIR CANADA HAS SCREWED US SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE WORST WAS... WE WERE FLYING A.C. VANCOUVER TO HAWAII CONNECTING TO AIR NEW ZEALAND TO THE COOK ISLANDS. THE FLIGHT WAS VERY LATE LEAVING VANC DUE TO THE LACK OF DE ICING FACILITIES. I TOLD THE A.C. REP IN THE HOLDING LOUNGE WE WOULD MISS OUR CONNECTION SHE SAID DON'T WORRY WE WILL PHONE AHEAD AND HAVE THEM HOLD THE N.Z. FLIGHT, AFTER ANOTHER 2 HOURS DELAY I WENT AGAIN TO THE A.C. DUTY SUPERVISOR AND HE SAID NO PROBLEM I'LL DEAL WITH IT RIGHT NOW I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NOT ANOTHER FLIGHT TO THE COOK ISLANDS FOR A WEEK. !! WE TOOK OFF. IN HAWAII THE N.Z. FLIGHT HAD GONE AS I KNEW IT WOULD. IT TURNED OUT THERE WERE 15 PASSENGERS IN TOTAL THAT MISSED THE FLIGHT. A.C. PAID FOR A HOTEL ROOM A.C. PAID FOR OUR BREAKFAST MEAL VOUCHER. A.C. PAID FOR US TO FLY UNITED TO LOS ANGELES. A.C. PAID FOR US TO FLY TO TAHITI. A.C. PAID FOR US TO FLY FROM TAHITI TO THE COOK ISLANDS. THAT'S FOR 15 PASSENGERS THEY DIDN'T CARE. WE CROSSED THE PACIFIC 3 TIMES WE LOST A DAY OF OUR HOLIDAY WE LOST OUR MONEY FOR THE NIGHT LOST AT THE HOTEL. AND WE WERE EXHAUSTED FOR ANOTHER DAY SINCE WE WERE TRAVELING 51 HOURS.. A.C. COULD HAVE FLOWN US TO LOS ANGELES AND THEN ON BUT THEY ARE THE MOST ARROGANT AIRLINE IN THE WORLD. I ONLY WISH THEM BAD LUCK AND GOODBYE. I WILL NEVER FLY AIR CANADA. THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN.
JACQUES AZOULAYHERE'S MY HORROR STORY Air Canada Customer Service Re: Flight 415 Feb 27 2008 84 Feb 27 2008 85 March 9 2008 428 March 9 2008 My horrible experience going to Tel Aviv started from the departure in Montreal on Feb 27 2008 right through today and counting March 10th 2008 24 hours after my return from Tel Aviv. Please read through the point form and verifiable events and repair the uncalled for prejudice treatment due to pure logistical incompetence at all levels of the Air Canada operations ASAP. 1. Your check-in service informs me that although I am checking in one piece of luggage, I must pay excess baggage fee of $75.00 for 2.5 Kg excess although I am entitled to 2 suitcases of 23 Kg. 2. Delayed flight leaving Montreal and creating extreme stress for connecting flight to Tel Aviv. Such so-called technical problems must be identified earlier than 30 minutes before departure. This looked more like a flight consolidation than anything else. 3. Aircraft physical condition and wear and tear is unacceptable on light 84. 4. Food and beverage service a disaster on flight 84. 5. Lost baggage upon arrival - Had to shop for change of clothing and basic toilet items. 6. Return flight 85 delayed for 1.5 hours - connecting flight 428 in Toronto delayed by 1.5 hours - 7. In clearing customs in Toronto, you must realize that liquid over 125 mg is non-compliant to the Toronto additional security station although such goods were purchased in the duty free area in Tel Aviv. Security in the prior airport because when clearing customs, we are forced to clear security and therefore not allowed to keep my purchased goods worth more than $350. This is pure stupidity and logistical oversight. 8. Once landed in Montreal, we were kept on the runway for more than an hour which led us to past midnight because no gate was available. 9. Once we got to the luggage carousel by 1:00 AM approximately the carousel and luggage service was in a total disorder and after 2:00 AM I gave up and one day later I do not have my luggage. This is costing me now 2 days of lost salary in addition to this whole mess. 10. When calling your online helpdesk, you suggest we can look up our status on your website. FYI, this link does not work! 11. I just received an arbitrary change of itinerary for a June/08 return flight which indicates an additional 12 hour waiting period at Pearson airport. This is all unacceptable and abusive!!

AnonymousAs a travel agent for the past 30 yrs., i have watched this "entitled" totally overweight airline get away with "murder" ..if a bunch of them are losing their jobs, tough..they didnt perform anyways..and when they do, you almost cant beleive it!..so sick and tired of these unionized whiners.. too see groups of them standing around at airports..doing absolutely nothing..i say good ridance! i deal with all airlines, and i have to say, AC is the worst..they wont do anything for anyone..everyone else has had to tighten their belts..your turn now air canada. and what exactly would we be missing? customer service???? onboard or at the counter, AC..you suck!
Mark HalstonAir Canada, the banks, insurance comapnies and the government are all out to screw us.
Dale LairdCanada charges a $40 fee when a customer changes flights, but won't pay the customer $40 when Air Canada forces the customer to change flights. Why not?

paul griffenbook flight to see my daughter who had emigrated in july 07.booked for xmas 07 at great expense.had to pay up front in july..only for flight to be cancelled and the itinary changed with out notifying us.was given crap flights from heathrow-toronto-vancover-cranbrook...instead of heathrow-vancover-cranbrook.they never even told us we checked our flight and found the change...our travel agent tackled air canada in london...nothing we can do...ring head office in canada, they done that and were told tough take it or leave it...no refund..we had no option but to take it...air canada you screwed me and nearley ruined our xmas.you will be our LAST airline in the future and you fly the emblem of your country...what impression does this give ?....you did not even have the decensey to notify us in person..and there were seats avalible on the next avalible flight on that day.
AnonymousI care for a Down Syndrome lady who travels twice a year to see her family in BC. They always choose Air Canada. I do not know why they continue. Besides have her luggage lost twice, her suitcase destroyed once, and her CARRY on back pack left behind by the Air Canada Employee who was looking after her well being, there is one that is a doozie! She always flies as an Unaccompanied Minor, which they pay extra for, one of the times she flew to Vancouver, her brother went to pick her up at the luggage return, and couldn't find her. He finally walked all around and saw her sitting on a bench totally out of sight of the assigned luggage carousel, ALL BY HERSELF. The Flight Attendant that was looking after her sat her down in the wrong area, and left her there. Very nice, thanks very much Air Canada. I would NEVER trust them with a child flying as an UM, let alone a cute, down syndrome lady. AC, you are a disgrace.
AnonymousI was back in Australia in April and people were remarking about how bad Air Canada is ! . Gas prices are now dropping back just after Air Canada and others have increased rates ( BC ferries and other organizations everywhere). I read a newspaper article recently regarding how much money will be spent on Canadian Airports and although the total figure escapes me I am quietly confident it was in the tens of billions. Just as they put everybody of flying.
Leanne HailesMy self and my Autistic son flew Air Canada from Edmonton AB on July 23 to Deer Lake Airport in NL. We did not have any luggage when we arrived. One suitcase came 2 days later and we waited 5 days for the second suitcase. It TOTALLY RUINED the first 5 days of my vacation. When we finally did receive the second suitcase everything in it was SOAKED and I mean SOAKED and STINKY and some dye from some clothing had run into other clothing and RUINED it. I am pissed with Air Canada.....or should I say Air Crapada. An Autistic child can not travel without their special things and it took them 5 days to get my suitcases to me. I will NEVER EVER fly with Air Canada again. They have no customer service what so ever and do not care about any of their customers. They only offered $50 to buy what we needed. Needless to say it deffinately did not cover our expences especially when some things were ruined due to our suitcase sitting in the rain for lord knows how long. I will be sending receipts for the little $50 they offered and also will be sending an amount for the ruined articles in the SOAKEN WET suitcase. I will also be going public with this story when I return to Edmonton....every newspaper, radio and TV if I have to. Air Canada is utterly rediculous!!!!!!
Paul TurnerHad a bad experience with an Air Canada flight, just one of the issues was that "someone forgot to put the food in to heat". I am just glad the pilot remembered to land !!!! Have sent letters of complaint, but I get responses from their most junior staff who have a "don't give a shit" attitude.

Alexander SchreyerOur flight out of St. John's was cancelled due to fog this morning together with two other flights. While a delay would have been fully understandable, it is clearly a sign of a lack of respect for the customers that we were rebooked on a flight four days later (!!!). So far, no effort has been made to add a flight to help the stranded passengers. Also, the ground service has not been helpful in finding a sufficiently satisfying solution. I am very dissatisfied with Air Canada at this point.
